Some pictures of plants and flowers from around here to brighten your day - Aloha from Maui County - Hawaii
Those pink fuzzy ones are Protea Kings, and the spiky ones are pincushions. These were grown in upcountry Maui, in Kula on the slopes of Haleakala - the dormant volcano.

This is Lobster Claw Heliconia - in the same family as bananas. This flower is about 15" tall. The leaves are over 6' long.
They grow very well in Haiku Maui, HI, on the windward side.

Ti leaves are abundant all over the island, but especially in the wetter areas. This colorful variety brightens up a Haiku garden. Ti leaves … (15 comments)
