These beautiful plumeria flowers were photographed in upcountry Maui - Makawao, Pukalani and Haiku. They really bring a warm tropical feeling to any property, with their delicate fragrance and soft petals.
Plumeria trees prefer a dry sandy soil and you'll see them growing in the sunny seaside towns as well. Easy to grow from just a piece of broken branch stuck into the ground. The blue marble tree growing in Haiku Maui Hawaii I have never seen anything like this before... bright blue fruits dropping from a tree in Haiku Maui. So I looked it up, and apparently the blue marble tree comes from Australia, and is very sacred in India, yet here it is growing in Haiku Maui. Of course most anything grows quite well in Haiku so I shouldn't be surprised. They were on the ground in all stages of fresh and decayed. Speechless Sunday - Rainbow Eucalyptus trees in upcountry Maui You can see a stand of these on the famous Road to Hana, and others scattered around the island. They have beautiful multi-colored smooth bark that's very eye catching! These were at a home for sale in Kula 200, a great established subdivision in Pukalani/Kula.
