Tuesday's Treasures - Kona girl meets little brother Bandit in Haiku Maui My little 4 year old JRT got to meet her 3 year old little brother from the same parents. Here they are meeting for the first time at a Haiku Maui property for sale. After a few sniffs and growls (on Kona's part) they were off and running and romping through the trails like wild animals. What a lot of energy these guys burned up in about 20 minutes of frantic exploring.
They are so similar looking you would amost think they are twins... haha. They are the (6 comments)
Have you ever grown white carrots? Not parsnips, and not daikon, these are true carrots but they're not orange. They came in a seed mix of purple, orange and white carrots, by Renee's Garden seed company. Since planting them, I have only seen a few of the purple ones earlier on, as I was thinning them. These white carrots were the most robust and I think they out competed the poor purple cohorts, ending up as the largest ones in the patch. I can see there are some orange (12 comments)

Tuesday's Treasures - Secret spot on the north shore of Maui I'm finding it harder and harder to get my blog on, due to so many distractions. With a secret spot like this who needs to go to the beach? The good news is, my internet connection is now back to full speed after months of languishing at a fraction of normal. Maybe that will help me to post more often. Hope you enjoy these amazing views from along the north shore of Maui.
After getting a bucket full of Haiku Maui lychee yesterday I have been combing the internet for fresh lychee recipes, and found a great site. I have been learning a lot about this Asian fruit, and the best thing is that you can freeze the whole unpeeled fruit and they keep well for months. I'm going to try that out!
