At this time of year throughout Westchester County the quality of our drinking water is tested.  I live in the Town of Greenburgh and on Friday received a letter from the Town Water Department explaining what is going on with our water.  The article below appeared in our local Newspaper this morning and is about the Village of Briarcliff Manor finding lead in the water in ten houses. 
One suggestion calls for residents to have their home tested to determine the amount of lead in their water. The Westchester County Laboratory will conduct the test for $26 per sample. … (1 comments)

Last weekend in Westchester County, New York there was a horrific accident where a home was struck by lightening.  According to the news reports the roof of the home was struck, the fire lingered in the attic for two hours and then the ceiling collapsed.  If there were fire alarms in the home they may not have been set off by this fire whch was contained in the attic.
