"Name The Dog Park & Logo Design Contest"

Newtown Parks & Recreation is the process of creating a Dog Park
for our furry friends.  We need your help!
 
The Name should be one that is simple, catchy and easy to remember.
The Logo should be easy to recognize.
The contest is open to participants in all Newtown schools
Grades K thru 8th!
Deadline is November 30, 2009
All entries must be mailed to:

Welcome to the Town of Newtown!  Newtown is a scenic "small town" located in Fairfield country in southwestern Connecticut about 60 miles from New York City.  Newtown is bordered on the south by Easton and Redding, on the north by Bridgewater and Southbury, on the east by Oxford and Monroe, and on the west by Bethel and Brookfield.  Newtown is traversed by Instate 84, U.S. Routes 6 and 302 and Connecticut routes 25 and 34.  Newtown covers 38,644 acres or 60.38 square miles, making it the 5  largest town, area-wise, in the state. The "Christmas Tree Lighting" in Newtown, Connectcut - 11/23/09 06:00 AM
Each year the town is brought together to kick off holiday season with cider, donuts and even a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.  The serene Ram Pasture is filled with children laughing and family's anxiously waiting the beauty of the lighted Christmas Tree.

Preparation for this community event begins months before the actual lighting occurs. The cost of lighting the tree is supported by many local businesses. The businesses donate over 3,000 candles and luminaries which are lined on Main Street and other neighboring street.   The tree, stands over 100 feet and holds over 5,000 colorful lights!
