lake charles events: Lake Charles LA Living and Community Events - 10/21/12 11:50 AM
Like many Southwest Louisiana residents I  participated in two popular Lake Charles LA October community events over the weekend.
The  weather was brisk and beautiful on Saturday October 20th while the Ethel Precht Hope Breast Cancer 3k took place in Lake Charles.

I completed the 3K and showed my support in the community!
While the Ethel Precht 3k was taking place, crews and volunteers began to set up on for Rouge et Blanc 2012 on Ryan Street in front of the Lake Charles historic Courthouses.

The pink banners have been up on the lightposts along the downtown median all month.  You have probably been noticing even the Pro Football teams getting into the act wearing pink to support Breast Cancer Month in October.
Lake Charles LA residents will gather, at the Lake Charles Civic Center on October 20th to  participate in the Ethel Precht Hope Breast Cancer 3K. This event is also a "pet friendly" walk/run run.

lake charles events: Downtown at Sundown Returns to Lake Charles in May! - 04/19/12 03:35 PM

Downtown at Sundown in Lake Charles will rise again, but in a new location to accommodate the  current Ryan Street streetscape progress.
This year music will be provided by Boomerang, Chris Ardoin and NuStep, Soul Vacation and City Heat providing the entertainment.
The Downtown at Sundown concert series events will be 6-9 p.m. Fridays from May 18 to June 8 in Lake Charles in the 600 block of Ryan Street between Division and Mill Streets.  There will be food, beverage booths, and art gallery exhibits. lake charles events: Perfect Weather for the March Live at Lakefront Events - 03/16/12 04:13 PM
Louisiana is enjoying great temperatures and Spring weather which is a perfect backdrop for Live Music in the evenings and activities along the Lake Charles Boardwalk.  I attended the inagural Music Event Live at Lakefront sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council this evening.  The weather was great at 7:00pm it was 77 degrees with low humidity and blue skies!
 
The next two Fridays, March 23 and March 30th, Lake Charles residents can come out and enjoy Live @ Lakefront and hear some great music while enjoying a New Orleans Snowcone or Shrimp on a Stick!

Downtown at Sundown in Lake Charles is a series of 4 Friday evenings beginning May 13 and happens each Friday through June 3, 2011. As the name implies, Downtown at Sundown is held from 6-9pm. I recently blogged about the City of Lake Charles 4th of July events, Red White Blue and You.
This is my "blooper" right in the midde of my plug, I was distracted by a skateboarder--sometimes things just don't go right in the first "take" and you have to CUT.

Party by the Pool and Network
Many Lake Charles residents have been waiting for the return of Party by the Pool at L'Auberge.  Last night the wait was over and I was pleasantly surprised when I attended with friends for the first 2010 Party by the Pool event with music by Better Than Ezra!

Every Thursday beginning in May through the Summer months  L'Auberge puts on their Party by the Pool event beginning at 7pm (when it begins to cool off here in the South as the sun sets!)  The name pretty much says it all, its an event staged … (2 comments)
