This fall there will be an exciting "re-addition" to the Marine Corps Air Community this fall, standing back up is HMM 366, a CH 53 E squadron now, but I remember several years of my childhood spent as a family member of the squadron when it was part of the "Delta" community.  With all of the exciting growth and new opportunities in the military today, it's fascinating to see the moving and re-organizing being done to various commands.  My dear old dad will be in town to help celebrate one of his favorite squadrons and I'm sure … (0 comments)

 Growing up in the military, I was never fond of living in base housing.  Bouncing from coast to coast and island too, my family stayed in base housing only once, while my dad was at a school based in Quantico, so, maybe for only a year.  Everyone's parents worked together all day so it seemed like a chore or mandatory work fun when trying to set up a play group. . .and, at least our family, felt a little closed off from the rest of the Northern Virginia Community staying weeks at a time on base.  Of course, like any rental, … (0 comments)

February 13, 2008I was back and forth to Sneads Ferry today showing properties and passed a few fresh clumps of Daffodils on the side of the road.  I know our Eastern North Carolina Weather has been weird this year, one day a fabulous 70, the next only 45. . .I am sure the trees are right behind and will be blooming in no time.  Why are daffodils so special in this area, well, for one, they are, officially, Jacksonville's flower.  Nice with the recent return of Marines and Navy personnel that there are bright yellow blooms around, like little … (0 comments)

Saturday, April the 12 The Jacksonville Country Club will play host to the Jacksonville Board of REALTORs Spwing Swing Charity Golf Classic.  Registration begins at 9am, tee-off at 10. Your specific tee time will be announced Friday night at the Captain's meeting.  Please register at least 30 minutes before your tee time.
