Hey there! If you aren't doing anything this weekend I am going to be hosting an open house in Northwoods, on 2457 Northwoods Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28540 from 1-4 pm on Sunday. Lots of great photos of the house on my website http://www.910homes.net/ so you should check it out. It's always nice to have an opportunity to try a home on for size. . .if you're in the market for a new home, this might be the one for you. . .if not, we do have more to choose from. I'll also have a mortgage broker there to talk monthly payments, interest (0 comments)
A big, beefy web presence because, afterall, size does matter. - 02/21/08 05:15 PM
Big and beefy, fresh and meaty, can you guess what it is? My Internet presence! Why is that super cool and important to you? If you are selling your home in a military town, most prospective buyers are in Sand Diego, northern Virginia, Pensacola, South Carolina and the like. They aren't here. If you are reading this, like most folks, you must be doing a little web research, looking for a home, an agent, to learn more about the Jacksonville, NC area, or perhaps found a listed tag that pertains to a special interest of yours. However you found me, the (0 comments)
SAIC, a growing presence in Stone Bay - 02/21/08 05:14 PM
SAIC, a growing presence in Stone Bay It seems daily we hear locally of new jobs, new companies and corporations joining our great community. SAIC (http://www.saic.com/) , Barnes and Noble (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/), Starbucks (http://www.starbucks.com/), and Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/) have increased their stakes in the Jacksonville and Surrounding Onslow County economy joining businesses already enjoying the troop increases like Target, Petsmart, Pier One, and more. Jacksonville has come a long way baby, and is growing daily. . .the various planning departments of our community are working overtime to make room for the troops that have already begun to move into the area, an expected 9,900 in (0 comments)
HMH 366 is standing back up! - 02/21/08 05:08 PM
HMH 366 is standing back up! This fall there will be an exciting "re-addition" to the Marine Corps Air Community this fall, standing back up is HMM 366, a CH 53 E squadron now, but I remember several years of my childhood spent as a family member of the squadron when it was part of the "Delta" community. With all of the exciting growth and new opportunities in the military today, it's fascinating to see the moving and re-organizing being done to various commands. My dear old dad will be in town to help celebrate one of his favorite squadrons and I'm sure (0 comments)

I'm the number one author for the week! Hi gang! It seems I am the number one author of the week at RE 411, http://realestate411.ning.com/, a real estate networking site. To those of you "in the business", fellow real estate agents and brokers, home inspectors, mortgage brokers, etc. . .it is a nifty site to join. Long wait for base housing! - 02/13/08 03:58 PM
Growing up in the military, I was never fond of living in base housing. Bouncing from coast to coast and island too, my family stayed in base housing only once, while my dad was at a school based in Quantico, so, maybe for only a year. Everyone's parents worked together all day so it seemed like a chore or mandatory work fun when trying to set up a play group. . .and, at least our family, felt a little closed off from the rest of the Northern Virginia Community staying weeks at a time on base. Of course, like any rental, (0 comments)
Daffodils are here! - 02/13/08 03:54 PM
Daffodils are here! February 13, 2008I was back and forth to Sneads Ferry today showing properties and passed a few fresh clumps of Daffodils on the side of the road. I know our Eastern North Carolina Weather has been weird this year, one day a fabulous 70, the next only 45. . .I am sure the trees are right behind and will be blooming in no time. Why are daffodils so special in this area, well, for one, they are, officially, Jacksonville's flower. Nice with the recent return of Marines and Navy personnel that there are bright yellow blooms around, like little (0 comments)

Radical Careering (Really kicking some butt) - 02/11/08 12:18 PM
Radical Careering (really kicking some butt) February 8, 2008 Hey there, hi there, ho there! I just had returned to me my most favorite inspirational book for work/life and I thought I would share, perhaps it will be the proverbial "kick in the pants" you need. I borrowed the picture from Amazon, which is where I bought this sassy little red number, a little red book, not to be confused with Mao Tse-Tung's "Little Red Book." ;D I love this book for several reasons, essentially it's a list of 100 truths to "jumpstart your job, your career and your life" . . . I have been watching this year with all the news reports on a possible recession on the news daily and lots of folks talking about real estate stats. I have to say, just like a weather report, generally speaking, the NATION might be experiencing the same "season" but if it's raining in Chicago, it isn't necessarily in Jacksonville. What has been going on with our market? Well, simply put the changes in the loan application processes as well as what particular mortgage products are available has changed tremendously in the last few months.
