The other day, I posted a photograph of a fighter jet that stands tall in Chandler, Arizona...wondering what this memorial stood for...I had to find out! :)
And then of course...being a transplant from Colorado, living in the beautiful desert, I did not know the history of Williams Air Force Base.

History still stands...Chandler, Arizona - 10/18/10 11:29 PM
Everyday, I drive past this jet, wondering what is the history behind this memorial in Chandler Arizona. I have to say, I have lived in Chandler for the past 10+ years and have never stopped...that is until fall break! The last few days have been an adventure with my sweet kids...something to do to cure the boredom! :)
Williams Air Force Base has been closed for many years...although is still stands and has been resurrected into commercial businesses, ASU has a satellite campus and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport has control of the airfield.
Change is inevitable...but this aircraft still stands!

The Arizona Taco Festival at the Scottsdale Waterfront on October 9th, 2010, is the first stop for the National Taco Tour. 30 teams are competing to show off who makes to BEST taco. Other contests: best guacamole, salsa, and anything goes taco. There will be plenty of tequila, margaritas, cold cervezas to go around. And bring the kids, because everybody loves tacos!

Murphy's Law is a tasty little Irish pub in downtown Chandler! GREAT food, GREAT atmosphere...even for your family (lots of fun!) and GREAT beer! When visiting Murphy's Law, my all time favorite is their flavorable Shepherds Pie and a cold, frosty Smithwick's beer! Keep in mind, these are big portions of food...need I say more?! :)
