Chandler gives green light to new flashing yellow turn signal
Chandler traffic engineers will introduce a new type of left turn signal on Dobson Road at Loop 202, effective Wed., Nov. 3. The signal will control traffic turning left onto the San-tan Freeway on-ramp from southbound Dobson.
The new signal is known as a Flashing Yellow Arrow Left Turn Signal and will use a system of red, yellow and green arrows stacked on top of one another. The signal was recently approved by the Federal Highway Administration after research showed the flashing yellow arrow heightens driver awareness when turning left … (0 comments)

My husband and I have a cute little home up in Payson, Arizona...We love it, it is our weekend retreat, getting away from the major city of Phoenix allows us to regroup, decompress and reflect on the next week at hand.
My kids, can be kids and we get to breathe FRESH air, mountain air....their are times when we are headed back to the valley and we hate it! The brown cloud of pollution is so brown, you just cannot see through it! YUCK!
What are ways that we can help clean the air that we breathe?

Chandler, Arizona is deep into to budget cuts. This means two of the city parks are on hold, and a museum.
One of the parks affects my family in a personal way...we live literally a few houses down from the empty field. One of our reasons for buying into the Sienna community, also named Markwood North was for the park. Centennial Park is now on hold at least until 2015 members of the city parks board received their list in July.

Seven families in Chandler, Arizona find homes through City's First Time Homebuyer's Program...
Chandler's First Time Homebuyer's program is celebrating its one year anniversary and has helped seven families purchase homes in the City.
Three more workshops have been scheduled in Chandler to educate the community about the program.
The workshops will be held from 6:30 - 7:30pm on June 29, July 27 and August 24, at the Chandler Community Center, Room 205, 125 East Commonwealth Avenue.

Chandler is an All-America City! National Civic League judges chose the city as one of 10 winners of the prestigious, nationwide competition on Friday, June 18, 2010. Chandler was one of 27 finalists presenting at the 2010 All-America City Awards in Kansas City this week. Chandler is the only Arizona winner and finalist for the 61st annual awards. Did you know...
On Friday, March 23, the City Clerk's Office processed 105 passport applications, smashing the previous record of 89 applications set on March 19, 2004, and again on March 16, 2007. In addition to passports, the Clerk's office also processed 15 marriage licenses on the 23rd. The record for marriage licenses processed in a single day is 28, which occurred on Dec. 20, 2006.

Hey all you First-time homebuyers there is still one class left...Chandler is still offering FREE a one-hour workshop designed to educate the community about Chandler's First Time HomeBuyer Program. Now keep in mind that this is the last of an on-going series.
This program was made possible by Chandler's receipt of a federal grant to help income-qualified families rehabilitate and purchase foreclosed homes. The City of Chandler partnered with the Newton Community Development Corporation to help administer the program, which enables buyers of foreclosed Chandler homes to only pay for the cost of the home. Has anyone heard of the Sunshine Review? I haven't until I was surfing the internet and came across this non-profit organization on the City of Chandler's web-site. It is actually quite interesting, Sunshine Review is a non-profit organization that reviews government web-sites for information about budgets, meetings, elected and administrative officials, permits and zoning, audits, contracts, lobbying, public records and taxes. Everything you want to know about a city, Sunshine Review is in the process of reviewing them or they have already been reviewed. You can also learn about the state in general, counties, cities, and even schools.

If you have ever been to downtown Chandler, you would know that it captures the ambiance of something unimaginable…so just think about what it would be like to go to the Jazz festival this weekend.
Chandler is hosting it’s 11th Annual Jazz festival this weekend March 26-27, 2010. Friday night the 26th shows start early in the evening and times vary all throughout Saturday.

Paseo Vista Recreational Area is in south Chandler, it is not officially open yet…but the city has allowed us to roam around this park. The 64-acre park is at the northwest corner of McQueen and Ocotillo Road and has so many cool features. Features ranging from - archery range disc golf course dog park kids playgrounds 1 mile jogging paths picnic areas The history of this park is quite the story. The park sits atop 2.2 million tons of compacting trash 38-feet deep that will continue to decompose and shift the upper level. This is Fred...we like to think that is his name. You see, my kids are I are on a mission to find a home with an acre lot, right in Chandler. We LOVE Chandler, we have been here for the last 14 years and cannot see ourselves going anywhere else. Chandler has a great reputation for being a family town!!!

I have to say, it is...better than the local yellow pages, every business in Chandler is on this online database. You can search the business by name, location or even a category.
