The desert has a sense of beauty that is unforeseen...most of us think of the desert as just sand, a few tumble weeds, cacti, maybe even a few scorpions out and about! Mary Schattenbergs story… Mary is 35 years old, a mother of two, Bella, 9 and Jackson,3 and has stage 2 Breast Cancer. She just had Lumpectomy and 2/3 of lymph-nodes removed in surgery last Thursday and is at home waiting for pathology report and the drainage tube to be removed. She will be undergoing at least a month of Radiation here soon and the possibility of more Chemo. She has already gone through 8 rounds of Chemo PRIOR to surgery. I seriously have no words for this little creepy crawly Scorpion! YUCK!!! :) We have not seen a Scorpion all year...and that is not typical for us, but the last few nights, our Golden Retriever seems to know they are out there! You see, when we moved into our house over 5 years ago, we were inundated with these boogers, and Duke found out the hard way...he was zapped all over the place! Well now, because of his hatred for scorpions, he senses them and stops us, usually touching his nose to our leg, and lets us know! Pretty Cool … (13 comments)
