"We urge Congress to move quickly to conference and final passage of this tax incentive," said Jim Helsel, NAR treasurer and a partner in RSR Realtors® in Lemoyne, Penn. "Failure to act quickly could further stall the housing market, hurting many of our members, who are … (0 comments)

If you are like most homeowners, you probably view your home as your most important investment. Diligent homeowners often treat their homes like stock portfolios or savings accounts and always try to add value to their properties. While there are many ways to increase the value of a home, one of the most utilized methods for homeowners is the remodeling project. However, despite the remodeling successes of many homeowners, remodeling a home is not always a guarantee of added value or increased interest from potential buyers. Hence, homeowners may want to take care in how they renovate their homes, especially when … (0 comments)

Some people think realtors work very little and earn a ton of money. (someone posted this on Trulia and it set off a myrid of responses) - 06/07/08 07:53 PM
Here was my short answer:
Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, it all evens out in the end, a good realtor works hard for you every step of the way, you have to take into the consideration that the average commission is only 4-5k and you usually have to wait about 2months for that but in the meantime if you have a contract on a home you have to deal with the sellers problems and the buyers problems, the HOME INSPECTORS problems, the attorney's problems so on and so forth and after all that maybe, just maybe you will close … (3 comments)

Buyers are listening to the Media WAY TOO MUCH! - 06/06/08 02:20 PM
I would like to hear from other realtors out there that are in areas where the real estate market is still doing well and how to explain that too a potential buyer that a home that was 600,000 5 years ago is worth 650,000 today. They tend to believe that the market in every part of the country is week and that all sellers are desperate to sell their home. I work and sell homes within a 10 mile radius to NYC and while there is no shortage of buyers it seems hard to convince them that putting in offers that … (5 comments)
