Thankful Thursday- Fire in Glacier View Meadows - 09/15/11 01:42 PM
Some people might think that the small grass fire was a non-event.  After all, it was small.  It didn’t make the front page news and that’s something to be thankful for.  

Monday night, lightning caused the small grass fire on the hill behind our house.   We watched the Glacier View and Livermore Fire Departments work to keep us all safe and even though we weren’t in any immediate danger, I was making a mental list of things to pack in case the winds picked up or the fire got out of hand.  We could only see our side of … (34 comments)

The buyers and I were driving by the cabin near the lake when the listing agent called with the lockbox code.   “There’s a Rottweiler in the house, but don’t worry,   she’s friendly”, he said.
 
I opened the lockbox and with key in hand approached the door, working on my “show no fear attitude” with every step.   I’ve shown many homes with dogs in them but you never know how they will react when their space is being invaded.

You usually find me in Red Feather Lakes, CO, but it’s only a short drive over the Boy Scout Ranch Rd. or the Manhattan Rd. from Red Feather to the Poudre Canyon. (about 10 miles)

The old toll house, built in 1935 is situated at the intersection of Hwy 14 (the Poudre Canyon Rd) and County Rd 69. 

Tolls were collected to help pay for the construction of Hwy 14, through the sometimes steep Poudre Canyon and across the Continental Divide, connecting Fort Collins and other eastern towns to North Park.
