Last weekend was a little rainy and cold but after a day of being inside our grandson wanted to do something outside. This was a great time to explore the Mt. Margaret Trail. I’d heard it was an easy hike and although I’ve passed by it thousands of times, I’d never been on it.
The Mt. Margaret Trail is on the North side of the Red Feather Lakes Rd. (County Rd. 74E) and approximately 20 miles West of Highway 287 in between Glacier View Meadows, in Livermore and the Village of Red Feather Lakes.

Glacier View Meadows and Red Feather Lakes, Colorado Weather
Last Friday it snowed and it snowed …and it snowed a lot! “They” say it’s unusual for us to get this much snow in February!
There is something quite peaceful about being snowed in, but after one day of it, it’s great to get out of the house and drive.
So far, my travels have only been up and down the Red Feather Lakes Rd. to the office. It’s a nice drive and I think the land covered in snow and our beautiful cerulean blue skies are so pretty.

Yes, the winter was long...sometimes cold and windy but you can't beat the summer, all the way through Indian Summer in Red Feather Lakes!

Hang in there everyone, it's been a cold slow Spring. Hardy campers, fishermen, snowbirds and little birds are flocking to the Red Feather Lakes, Colorado area to relax and enjoy themselves outdoors. October shaped up to have the largest number of closings in any month so far this year. For our MLS Area 9/24, which includes Red Feather Lakes and most of Livermore, there were 23 closed sales and 17 pending sales left to close in future months.
Here's the way the year is stacking up so far.
Closed Sales in October ranged from lowest: a $10,000, .99 acre vacant lot in the Glacier View Meadows Subdivision to highest: a $325,000, 2736 sq. ft., Lakefront Log Home in the Crystal Lakes Subdivision.

Wednesday was the appraisal deadline for a cabin I had listed in the Crystal Lakes Subdivision and they missed it. Apparently the AMC contacted several appraisers who turned down the assignment.
(In a way, that's a good thing. I've complained loudly about geographic competency in the past and if an appraiser is not familiar with the area, they should not attempt to appraise property here).
The appraisal delay, it seems, was due to the fact that the "PROPERTY IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE"!

Yesterday, I was showing homes in the Village of Red Feather Lakes. The Village is an area I continue to explore; it can be confusing if you are not familiar with all the intricate details…the winding little dirt roads, the signs on the trees, knowing which roads have been plowed…or not.
One cabin we visited still had a skeleton key door knob! (I haven’t seen a skeleton key since 1976!) This house had sinks, with faucets – but no water. I don’t mean the water was turned off….I mean this cabin has no water. Some Rustic Cabins in Red Feather have no … (52 comments)
