Jim Anthony developer and founder of Cliff Communities Inc is changing the way Cliffs sells homes at their communities. The term Luxury is being dropped from their vocabulary and replaced with Value. Jim makes a good point in saying "In tough times, people turn to deeper meaning." ..."The trend right now I think is deeper meaning - family, faith, philanthropic (ventures)." These are all good points when you are trying to sell $1 million plus homes with steep monthly golf and fitness fees.
I'm not knocking Jim Anthony and Cliffs, quite the opposit, I admire their outlook and take on the current economy and real estate market. The people that have money still have money and are going to keep buying, but they want to make sure they are getting their moneys worth. I think that is true of anyone right now and is pretty smart of Jim to figure it out, some people would just throw in the towel and say "well this is hopeless to sell expensive homes in this economy. " so good for you Jim.
The cliffs development has brought national attention to the upstate of South Carolina and that is a wonderful thing for those of us who live here. We love Greenville, SC and enjoy the positive national attention.
