Today is The First Day of the Rest of Your Life - 07/31/10 01:41 PM
It's decisions we make everyday.  How do we handle a little adversity?  Are you able to re-group and make the best of the rest of the day?  After all "It is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life!!
Those are questions we answer every day of our life.  If we have a problem with a listing do we do our best to solve it or do we go to a corner and just hide or get mad?  I hope we simply do our best to make the best of what ever is put in front us.  It does not … (15 comments)

Is it The Good, The Bad or the Ugly? - 07/28/10 10:13 AM
How we answer the question might determine how our careers go for the next 18-24 months.  Is it the Good?  Is it the Bad?  Is it the Ugly?  I'm not sure? But what I'm sure of is how we answers the question will play a role in what happens in our careers.  Wealth is not only lost during economic down turns but it also sets many people up for the Future to be the wealthy of the next BOOM!  Will there be another BOOM?  Yes.  I read 3 different papers this morning while having coffee with my dad.  The first was the Arkansas Gazette … (9 comments)

EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, and NOBODY - 07/27/10 11:54 AM
I don't know about you but I've been EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY AND NOBODY.  What about you!
Via Nancy Hankin (Remax Real Estate Consultants):
There once were four people named, Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it! Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what they could have done.
 I bet you weren't expecting that! I thought I'd throw in a … (0 comments)

Home Shopping Is A Lot Like Dating - 07/26/10 06:33 PM
This is a really cute post.  I had never thought about it but it is really like dating!
Via Kristi DeFazio Colorado Springs Real Estate 719-459-5468 (RE/MAX Advantage):
While working as a Buyer's Agent in Colorado Springs, I have shown countless homes to a number of people. I am always struck by how similar the process of home shopping is to looking for that perfect mate.
This is what I mean:
First, you narrow down the potentials to look at. You will know what you are basically looking for in the beginning. For example, you want 3 bedrooms 2 baths and it must … (0 comments)

"What we have here is a failure to communicate" - When "AS-IS" MEANS "AS-IS" #in - 07/25/10 04:40 PM
This is a Great Blog.  I bet most of us had this happen just last week!!  "What we Have here is a Failure to Communicate"  Yes I think Jackie Gleason was right!
Via Barry Owen (Keller Williams Realty):
Was that "Smokey & The Bandit"?
One of the most memorable quotes from any movie I've watched.
Seems every time I get into one of those Twilight Zone negotiations in which I feel like I'm speaking plain English and the other agent is speaking some obscure dialect of Tribal Gibberish, this image appears of the "smokey" talking into his hand-held mic saying:
"What we have … (3 comments)

5 Real Estate Selling Tips To WOW Buyers - 07/17/10 04:54 PM
This is a really good Blog take the time to read and share with your agents.
Via Judi Monday (RE/MAX Valley Properties):
It is no secret that a well staged home will usually sell faster and for more money than one that hasn't been staged.  However, staging your home doesn't have to require a hefty investment.  In fact, your best resource could be your agent since they know what sells homes and what turns Buyers away.
That's why I always do a walkthtrough with my Sellers to show them things that I think should be changed to make their home more Buyer friendly … (1 comments)

"Human Web" - 07/17/10 01:16 PM
My wife Lesia and myself are in Little Rock Arkansas this weekend representing the Arkansas Realtors Political Action committee at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and reception today.  It's always fun to people watch at these events.  We were having coffee this morning on the balcony of the Capital Hotel which is Grand old place that has a wonderful history.  It would make a Great Blog.  That is for later.  Now back to my title the "Human Web".  The "Human Web" is more commonly known as "Six Degrees of Separation". I've heard this talked about alot but not really sure what it meant.  … (4 comments)

Would it have been SO hard to have picked up the phone??? - 07/13/10 08:03 PM
Lets remember to be Professional!  Take sometime to read this blog.  Be sure you are not the agent being talked about!
Via Sheldon Neal -- That British Agent -- (Bergen County, NJ - RE/MAX Real Estate Limited):
You know, now more than ever, it is critical to not burn any bridges, and to keep your reputation as dazzling as possible.
... and that includes how we act to our fellow REAL ESTATE AGENTS !!!!
It is astounding to me that so many agents STILL believe that they dont have to carry themselves with integrity, and who feel like they dont owe anyone … (3 comments)

I believe I own this Lady a Dance!!! - 07/11/10 10:23 PM
The Dance is Real Estate.  Little did I know how little I knew 31years ago as a young 21 year old with a Fresh New Real Estate License and a Broker's License to boot!  Yes, back then in Arkansas you could take an extra weekend (30) class room hours and if you passed the test you would be a Broker!!  What a wild ride that has been.  I've learned so much and continue to learn and evolve.  Hey, just take a look I've gotten into ActiveRain and that is really stepping out of the box for me.
Let's talk about that Dance … (6 comments)

Just Keep Rolling with the Flow! - 07/10/10 10:43 PM
Do you ever think about that question?  What are we doing to make our life more complicated?  Or as the old saying goes are we taking our life to serious.  Lets take a minutes and think about some of the things we do to complicate our life.
1.  Can we control what Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac or FHA might do tomorrow?  I don't think so.  Maybe we should do what Charlie Rich said is a song from the 80's "Just keep on rolling with the flow".  I really thinks that's all we can do.
2.  Can we control what Wall Street … (8 comments)

A Pet's Ten Commandments

 1.    ‎My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful. 2.    Give me time to understand what you want of me Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.. 3.    Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.

The Rich and Foreclosurer!! - 07/09/10 11:26 AM
Did anyone else read the article on MSN yesterday about the wealthy being foreclosed on twice as fast as the common person?  It was a interesting articles that stated the owners of homes valued over a Million Dollars are twice a likely to let their Home go into foreclosure.  They went on the say that 1 in 7 homes valued over a Million $ is seriously delinquent. Conpare that to 1 in 12 for houses valued under a Million $'s. That's just hard to understand until you finish the rest of the story.
In most cases it's not because they could not make the … (5 comments)

It's the Reason WHY? - 07/04/10 02:27 PM
Do you ask yourself why I'm I still trying to make a living selling real estate?  Well I was reminded of the reason this past Wednesday at a closing with "Bella".  This is a short story about why all the really good agents I know are in the business and stay in the Business.  It's just sometimes we need something to   remind us!!  This was my 7th closing this past Wednesday the most famous closing day in my 30 year career.  The pressure was on an everyone was feeling the pressure.  An then my last closing of the day was with the most excited … (12 comments)
