Keeping positive!

I tend to be the one boosting everyone's sprits in our office. I love taking on that roll...and making others feel good just comes natural. Nevertheless, I had a bad day yesterday. I am still not use to loans just falling apart (i.e.: client's losing their jobs, banks just not responding, you name it.) I am lucky that I have a supportive group of co-workers around me... but I kind of feel that since I am such a cheerleader, when I am down and out, it scares everyone else. My question is....where do you go for a mental/emotional "boost"!? In the market we are all lucky to be in, we need to support each other any way we can. I would love to hear your ideas on how to keep positive (which in turn keeps you motivated).

What is your WHY???

In today's industry, negativity is everywhere. Our office went through the exercise below (provided by Buffini & Company) as a way to remind us that life is good and the stronger we are, the more we will be able to proved for our clients. A few of my co-workers even had their kids do this exercise. Spread the positive spirit!! It will only come back to you 10 fold.

WHY?????

•· What motivates & drives you (personal/work/family/etc)?

•· What compels you to action?

•· What/Who inspires you?

•· What do you want in life?

•· What are your priorities?

•· What are your goals?

•· Etc.

Once you answer these questions, then ask yourself "WHY"this is the case. The "why" clarifies your passions and motivation. If your "why" is strong enough, you will do what it takes to get to your goal (i.e. calls, notes, popbys). If you have a strong enough "why", you could endure almost any "how." Write out your "why" to help you keep a level head when you're feeling overwhelmed or when times get tough.

(Again, this is a concept from Buffini & Company. http://www.buffiniandcompany.com/)
