Benicia Short Sales, will my home sell? This question is often asked when we talk to homeowners who are underwater. Each situation is different but for the most part, short sales can be successful.
They automatically think because their home mortgage is more than what it can sell for, the home will not sell. This is not true. As a Benicia Short Sale Agent, it never fails to amaze me that this question comes up every time.

Benicia CA homes for sale have dropped by 43% since October. We have been lamenting about the scarity of homes to sell as the buyers are out it in full force since the New Year has started.
This statistic came up as I was updating my website for Benicia CA and Vallejo CA homes for sale and sold numbers. In October of 2011 there were 86 homes for sale in Benicia. AS of today, 2-12-12, there are only 47 homes for sale.

This past weekend I received a call from a local homeowner who asked "What do I have to do to short sale my home". Usually one of the first sentences I say is "Be prepared to give up your first born child". In this case the potential seller adamantly exclaimed "Noooooo I won't do that!". Ok then the foreclosure will happen that you told me has already started on your home.

Why can't you tell me everything about a short sale? I can tell you what has to do with the real estate transaction part of a short sale but not tax or credit concerns.
Did you know that you, as a borrower/seller, need to speak with your tax adviser and an attorney about how a short sale can affect you? I am a Realtor, not a tax accountant or an attorney. I love roller coasters. My husband does not. Consequently when our twin daughters were young, I would have to ride twice on a roller coaster until they were old enough to go together. Statistics always interest me. They are what they are. Benicia is located about 35 miles from San Francisco in Solano County. The news articles will often point out Solano County has been hit hard with foreclosures and distressed sellers. This is a true fact.
