Tax credit deadline extended Mortgage firms and real estate attorneys scrambling to beat the June 30 closing deadline for homebuyers to qualify for a federal tax credit now have three more months to get it done. The Senate amended a bill Wednesday that extends the closing deadline until September 30 to give lenders some breathing room. Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, who sponsored the amendment, said the extension was needed to help clear more than 180,000 home sales across the country. This is the final stretch folks. If the credit entised you to look than get with a professioanl agent today and get your plans IN MOTION! Buyers I have been working with are sitting down and getting serious. Weed out the MLS with an agent in their office, decide on location and define your search. Look for motivated seller's. Certinaly get prequalfied, have your bank approval and together with an aggressive negotiating plan you can find your self with almost double the credit. I saw the article below and thought why rewrite it, it fits most areas. THE SUN IS OUT IN UPSTATE

It's happening in Ithaca, NEW YORK, Interest rates are set to increase shortly. As the home buyer tax credit runs into the last month buyer's who are needing this credit, want the advantge, or think it makes sense in theri financial, they should get their flood boots on. Actually not much by way of Flood waters in ithaca most of the water stays in the lake. SO here it is, ADVICE to Buyer's!! You need to be in contract by the end of April and Closed by the end of JUNE. As more inventory floods the market you are in a good position

Everywhere you turn, it's first time home buyer tax credit this and tax credit that. So even in my fear of "beating a dead horse" (I don't like that phrase - I'm a fan of horses) overkilling the subject there are some nuances and requirements for first-time home buyers to qualify for the tax credit, such as... Did you know that you must 'close' on your home no later than December 1, 2009? That means property needs to be transfered into your name by Dec. 1, 2009. And where I practice real estate (Ithaca NY) getting to the closing table takes at least
