Lenn Harley, of Homefinders serving Virginia and Maryland, posted this excellent blog on arriving at an offer price on a home for a buyer.  The main point is that NO ONE (seller, buyer or agents) knows what a seller will take for his home until the offer is submitted in writing.  
This is great reading for all buyers who are ready to buy a home!

Things to Ponder Before You Submit a Low Ball Offer - 06/12/10 11:29 AM
 
Here is a great post from Karen Crowson of Livermore, CA on issues that buyers might want to consider before submitting a very low-ball offer on a home they want to purchase.  I've seen so many buyers lose out on a property they really loved, simply because their initial offer was such a low-ball that it offended the sellers and stopped the negotiation.  Thanks, Karen!
