Local Designer Decorates for the Holidays at the Mansion House Art Gallery of Hagerstown

The Valley Art Association at the Mansion House Art Gallery brings local designer Laura Meredith of the Meredith Design Group to decorate the North Gallery for the upcoming holiday events.

Gallery Director and artist JanieMoltrup  says, “We welcome Ms. Meredith’s coordinating colors with this year’s themed Winter Exhibit”, which begins December 4^th through January 10^{th.  “}The Meredith Design Group’s team brings holiday warmth to the Mansion, allowing all of our members’ work to be shown off throughout the North Gallery.” This year’s event features the local artists’ paintings, photography, and handmade crafts, all for sale.

December 4^th starts the holiday season with the yearly tree lighting ceremony at the Hagerstown City Park, from 7-9pm.  Come in from cold atop the city park to the warm Mansion House Art Gallery! Enjoy the Open House with refreshments and live holiday music performed by the Rhinelanders German Band.

Are you guys ever wondering if you are using the right products to spruce up homes?? Is it safe? Eco-friendly? 

I have to kinda laugh.  As a stager, we try to be considerate with decluttering, and depersonalizing. In redesigning spaces, we bring in new colors, fabric, furnishings, and accessories. We want homeowners to "feel welcome" in their own space again--right? The "green" way. But in this new way of living, what about homes feeling safer and healthier too? 

Whether it's Stagers, Redesigners, Agents, DIY'ers, or a cleaning crew, the harsh chemical fumes are getting us. We just don't automatically think of getting an allergic reaction, or eczema. I found out the hard way-my eyes, my lungs, and my hands.

Because of that, a friend introduced me to these products that are truely environmentally safe. I started using these eco-sensitive products in my own home, and I wanted to share this info. They are ph-balanced, non abrasive, and non-caustic. There are no fillers, no phosphates, no chlorine bleach, no ammonia, no aerosols, and no formaldehyde! No more itching!

Because these products are so effective,  I offer them to agents at office presentations, and at open houses. I also give these products as a thank you gift to clients' homes that I've staged or redesigned. I'm excited about keeping their home safe and healthy. Hi Tomato Fans,

Thanks for visiting this new kid on the block. I feel as awkward as a passenger taking that scarry step onto an airplane for the first time! But I crossed the line, and I look forward to give as much helpful and useful information as possible to the real estate community!

Awhile back, my mom retired as a realtor after 25 years, serving Orange County, CA. I have certainly learned from all of the experience she shared throughout her career. What I admired the most, was her abililty to be honest with buyers and sellers. Even in the tough times, she said they would keep coming back. And they did!

Living in PA, and working in the MD and DC area now, is so different from living in CA. On the west coast, some people will ask, "Who does your botox, Who's your agent, and, Who's your stager"?  Here, in the east, my experience in Frederick County and the surrounding area, folks ask, "Can we lower the price"? They are afraid to step outside of the box.

The cost of a simple home staging is far less than a price reduction. The first impression will get potential buyers to step into the box, which leads--- to a sale! Honest.

In September, I drove to Mystic, Connecticut, for the annual 3-day Association of Design Education conference. It was one of the most positive design conferences I've recently attended! I met some very talented people.

At closing, I was quite surprised when awarded "Best Accessorized" in this room design! The ADE members voted on entries submitted by the designers into various catagories. What a humbling experience.

In the model townhome kitchen, we needed to brighten the empty corner, accessorize, and show how functional it really can be. The stand alone plastic palm tree just didn't cut it. Take the step.
