Even though lenders must take responsibility for this situation which we are living through, individual homeowners must also take responsibility for their actions.
When we are young, and still learning right from wrong, we are given a set of values and told the path which may be the easiest, may not be the right one.
In New York State, homeowners are crying foul, for several reasons, which I will address here:

FNMA and FHLMC Bailout - 09/08/08 08:03 PM
FNMA and FHLMC are now under the control of the Fed's.
That means that we are paying the bill to bail them out!
Is this the responsibility of those both Institutions. We should not be responsibile to pay for mistakes of those who found that greed was more important than solid business practice.
This is my opinion, but I also blame those who took loand out with no sure way for them to pay the loans they agreed to accept. Many took cash out, and now that the money is gone, these same homeowners want someone to help them out.

Happy Labor Day and Our Prayers with our Friends dealing with Gustav - 09/01/08 07:46 AM
I want to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day. I want to make sure we all say a Prayer for those who are or may be affected by Gustav.
Hopefully, the swift actions of the Government and the fact that most are out of harms way will give all a much different outcome from years past.
My daughter is scheduled to return to New Orleans as part of our church group to help rebuilt homes next summer. Now, more than ever, the importance of volunteers and faith based initiatives is one of many ways New Orleans is being rebuilt.
