pending home sales: Another blow to the already beat up housing market - 09/05/07 09:46 AM

While I strongly feel a good correction will only strengthen the market further in the long run, it is always a little surprising when the numbers come out.
Pending Homes Sales Fell 12.2% in July from the month before and 16% from a year ago. The National Association of Realtor's Pending Home Sales Index, based on contracts signed in July, fell to a reading of 89.9, the lowest since September 2001 when the index stood at 89.8. I also should state that this number is for contracts that have not closed yet. This is a good indicator for home sales moving forward as these … (3 comments)
