The Jungle is an interesting local business that is located in Indialantic, FL...directly across from the Atlantic Ocean (about 1/2 mile south of Eau Gallie Blvd) on Hwy A1A. It is part really good organic restaurant and well stocked organic market.
This is a place I often stop by for lunch...and then stock up on some organic vegetables and other needs like organic beer and wine, gluten free items...and even organic pet foods.
The restaurant is open for lunch (or brunch on Sunday) all week...and opens for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. I love the salads, sandwiches and veggie … (3 comments)

If you have never been to Green Turtle Market you are in for a real surprise...it is absolutely one of the most interesting places you will ever run into...and if you come once...you will be back!
It is hard to explain what this place is...wine and beer shop, restaurant, deli, catering shop, specialty foods, prepared foods, gift baskets, great wine tastings...I could write a blog about each facet of Green Turtle's many sides!

I am kinda picky about who cuts my hair. I don't want someone who is just out of school...nor am I looking for a part-time do it on the side barista-Realtor-Hair Stylist. This is why I love Creations on 5th Avenue in Indialantic. Although I am willing to travel to get a good haircut...Creations excellent location (it's on the south side of 5th Ave/Rt 192 sharing a parking lot with Subway) makes it an easy commute from almost anywhere on the Space Coast. Seems to be a big debate going around in these times of shrinking local budgets and big cuts...should post offices and libraries still exist...or at least exist in their present forms.
With the advent of large book stores...followed by online giants (like Amazon) to technology advances (like nook) the need for a large housing of "free" books has become a thing of great debate.
A few years back libraries began adding movies and music to their holdings...in essence to become more relevant...now you might argue that having movies "for free" at the library has led to the shutting down of businesses … (13 comments)

Many people who fly into Central Florida come through the very busy...and very large Orlando International Airport. Orlando is a great place to visit and I love going over as often as I can...but I must admit...I am a hater of large airports in general...parking is a pain...taking trains to planes...long lines for security...all to get to the mountains, beach, city etc...
For the opposite reason you just have to love Melbourne International Airport. This is a small airport that allows you to fly through the big airports without dealing with many of the above mentioned issues. MIA has two … (1 comments)

...obviously many of the visitors to the Space Coast come for the beaches or to see a rocket go up at Cape Canaveral. They may fly into Melbourne International Airport or Orlando International Airport...and in many cases drive right by the Brevard Zoo...and that would be a shame because the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, FL is a wonderful example of what a regional zoo in the United States can be.
The zoo is broken down into five sections...all worth seeing no matter what age you or your guests are.

Satellite Cinemas is easy to miss...it is located in the corner of a large strip center mall along with a Publix in Satellite Beach, FL If you live beachside...add this place to you search when looking to go to the movies...here are a few reasons:
1. CHEAP prices...tickets for senors, kids, all Military (with ID) and ALL shows before 5pm are only $5...and even night shows are only $6!!!!2. Great location (about 2 miles south of Pineda on A1A3. Lou's Blues in Indialantic, FL is very unique to the Space Coast. It is a place that attracts all age groups (you will see 20 somethings mixing with 60 somethings)...has little to do with its name (honestly, I have been to the place many times and have only heard one group I would qualify as a blues band)...gets truly packed out almost every night...yet seems to have the most remarkable service you will find.
Trying to explain this very eclectic night spot is not easy...but here I go:

I must admit...I am a bit of a health food junkie. This does not mean that I will not eat chicken wings or burgers...every once in a while you just gotta do it :)
...but most nights you will find me eating healthy meals that (gasp) I prepare myself. I wish we had more places that carried healthy options...including our grocery stores that have a limited supply of organic fresh vegetables and meats.

This is a new series I am starting. It is going to spotlight local businesses that do a great job in their specific field. In this case I am highlighting Petty's Meat Market...with two locations in Melbourne, FL Petty's opened in 1976 and has been a Central Florida area staple ever since.
