Okay Mississippi lenders--I hear one thing, then I hear something entirely different. I hear that it is still possible to get FHA w/rehab like or similar to 203K. Then I hear from a bank that no bank would touch a property if it has certain issues. Which is it? Must you pay cash to buy a fixer upper? Who is the source to contact for purchasing an as is property with issues such as: well pump, plumbing, septic? Do we wait for a cash buyer?

What am I thinking about late Saturday night? Toilets. A seller just had a new well pump/motor thingie installed. She lives out of state, so I was there to test before the well guys left. Water to the kitchen, water to the tub, water to the bathroom sink. NO water to the toilet. Even I know to look for the valve and turn it. Don't see a valve anywhere. I stood on my head and looked under the toilet. I looked outside. Three big burly guys looked all around; alas a toilet valve cannot be found. So now we have to … (12 comments)

Buyers in the market should know the simple basics of credit--especially if they have talked to a Lender, a REALTOR, parents--or, if they are truly interested in buying a home.
Could it seem to a buyer that we may be a little -lofty, a trifle "holier than thou?"
