freedom: In Honor of Veteran's Day
- 11/10/11 03:13 PM
VETERAN'S DAY 11-11-11War is wrong but the fight is right. This is a day to pause and reflect...to pull in our aligned forces of gratitude for those who serve our highest ideals in the fight for freedom. TODAY I want to acknowledge and remember the men and women I've learned of (including my mom, pictured below), known of and some I've met here in Auburn and Opelika, Alabama through my work as a REALTOR. What a privilege I have in America---to have such an opportunity to work and encounter so many incredible people along the way. Each one is a brilliant (9 comments)
Memorial Day is the day set aside to especially remember these men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military. This day is to commemorate the fallen soldiers whose fight for freedom cost their lives, so that we could live ours freely. Freedom isn’t free at all, but comes with a big price. As we gather with our friends and family this Memorial Day weekend, let’s take the opportunity to remember those who have paid this price, and be grateful for their sacrifice, given for freedom in America. freedom: Who is Moses? Moses George Hogan??
- 01/29/11 12:51 AM
TODAY, at 2:00 the Auburn University Gospel and Chamber Choirs present THE MOSES HOGAN MEMORIAL FESTIVAL in Auburn Admission is FREE! Who is Moses? Moses George Hogan?? Way after the biblical Moses, and just before there were musical Blues, African American folk songs worked on the railroads, picked bales of cotton, and sang softly in the night. INDEPENDENCE DAY IN AMERICA inspires a revival of nostalgic images that represent the high ideals that established our country...pictures that endorse the securing and sustaining of FREEDOM in our land. Flags, fireworks, parades and backyard grilling (the radio just announced that 815 hot dogs will be consumed per second on this day), and back to re-telling America's story of INDEPENDENCE...It's truly something to celebrate. It's also something to be so very grateful for and not take for granted any day, ever. We can remember that the price (of fallen soldiers) and the fight (& destruction of land & property) for Independence (10 comments)

freedom: MORTGAGE RATES & GAS PRICES ARE NOTHING, COMPARED TO THE PRICE OF FREEDOM
- 07/03/08 02:51 AM
When it gets right down to it, nothing compares to the cost of freedom. It's the highest price of all, and we are paying dearly for it, every one of us now. What can we give today? Gratitude. Very few of us support war anywhere, but isn't it essential that we support, among others, the many young people, from everywhere in our country, that have and are willing to fight on our behalf--- many of them not old enough to legally even have a beer?! The 4th of July is more than a day for picnics & parades... it's a day for deepest gratitude... for (8 comments)
