home: In Honor of Veteran's Day
- 11/10/11 03:13 PM
VETERAN'S DAY 11-11-11War is wrong but the fight is right. This is a day to pause and reflect...to pull in our aligned forces of gratitude for those who serve our highest ideals in the fight for freedom. TODAY I want to acknowledge and remember the men and women I've learned of (including my mom, pictured below), known of and some I've met here in Auburn and Opelika, Alabama through my work as a REALTOR. What a privilege I have in America---to have such an opportunity to work and encounter so many incredible people along the way. Each one is a brilliant

home: HELOC HELP FOR HOMEBUYERS - Bridging the gap & avoiding mortgage insurance
- 06/18/11 02:48 AM
When I began selling homes in Lee County (at the turn of the century :-) I met Barry Jones, a mortgage broker, who currently manages the local office of STARKEY MORTGAGE. Over the years, through thick and thin (and thinner!), he has been my number one "go to" consultant on all things related to home loans and getting qualified. To this day, I continue to be supported in my business with his expertise, knowledge, troubleshooting approaches, and consistent, excellent results. Education packs a power punch in the way he operates his business. He stays on top of the ever-shifting and complex

home: DAILY BREAD - East Alabama Food Bank Fighting Hunger
- 11/02/08 03:25 PM
In support of The Food Bank of East Alabama, The Opelika-Auburn Newspaper staff teamed up with the WRBL News 3 group, Praise 88.7 and The Well, to sponsor a day-long food drive on Saturday, Nov 1st. The event was held at the Opelika Wal-Mart Supercenter. It opened up with Opelika Mayor, Gary Fuller, cutting a ribbon, marking the start of building community spirit and sponsorship for the drive that will be unceasing in its efforts to collect food for the fall and holiday season. home: IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME
- 11/01/08 12:25 AM
That song won't leave my head this morning. It must be the singing alarm that is reminding me to turn my clocks back one hour tonight. Of course the task itself takes me nearly an hour, so I never quite feel the savings. In fact, I feel I lose a couple of hours, just trying to re-orient myself and adjust all my calendars and clocks. When I received The sudden news a few weeks back, it momentarily shattered the innermost heart of what I've come to know as feeling AT HOME on earth. Beyond our personal abodes, we grow the gardens that are abiding through the spaces and songs of friendships. Like the refrain or chorus of a musical score, we all get to know well, how it begins and somewhat of how it ends, but

home: ANGEL MESSAGES
- 05/01/08 12:41 AM
An out-of-town prospect contacted me through my website, asking if I could reserve some time on a Friday afternoon to show her some properties. A few days before her trip here, we set a time & I asked if she would meet at the office. She was car-less (her husband would be using it), so she emailed if I could please pick up her and her daughter at the hotel--- and that she'd buy the gas. I wrote back that I'd be happy to pick her up, and would be at the hotel at 2:00 with a full tank of gas. We
