homes: I-CONE REPLACES TWITTER - Illustrated Notes According to Lyric - 04/10/11 10:51 AM
More than understanding your market for Twitter and other Social Media, you need to understand, first and foremost, how to move in the real world. My 4-year-old grandson is doing daily research and packing up a ton of experience for his future ventures. He keeps me current via Skype and his mom and dad's FB. Recently, his mom suggested they make ice cream with their homemade ice cream maker. He was sold on the idea, and, in turn, tried to sell his mom on the idea of also making an ice cream truck for their venture. Seemed like a perfect

homes: A CALL FROM ROME...Margaret Rome - 01/17/09 07:23 AM
A few weeks ago, surfing the Active Rain net, I landed in Hawaii, reading Randy Prothero's blog post: SO YOU WANT TO BE A REAL ESTATE AGENT. He references Margaret Rome and recommends and links to an order form for her newly published book: Real Estate The Right Rome Way. I was excited to order the new book, clicked the link and an order form opened up. I filled in the usual blanks, and was then asked if I would like an autographed copy or not. (WHAT? Are you kidding?! This is a question?) And my thoughts simply wandered away... ... far, far

homes: ON THIS DAY, 790,000 YEARS AGO - 10/28/08 06:00 AM
This morning's news included the newsworthy fact that 'On this day 790,000 years ago, man discovered FIRE.' My eyes wandered to the fireplace in the room that I took for granted all summer... FIRE, burned into my memory, emerged as a campfire of images...from birthday candles and roasting marshmallows to the smell of fear & wildfires that charged through mountain regions of places I'd lived---Southern California, South Africa and Colorado... ancient memories, somehow preserved, of black kettles over flames that fed thousands for centuries, sounds of welders and blacksmiths...the images spiraled to the dawn of Creation, flames of fire, forever striking the surface (chronos) of our existence and the

homes: CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? - 06/16/08 04:26 PM
June 2008 has arrived with a first-time headline for history--- cell phone additction puts children in a mental hospital for rehab! According to the Spanish media, 2 children ages 12 & 13, were hauled off by their parents, probably shouting "can you hear me now?!" Apparently these young siblings stopped being able to function normally and dropped their grades in school, essentially becoming like chimpanzees with thumbs and texting away the days. They had to go cold turkey and do without tech toys for 3 months! Gosh, I don't know if I could do that. Are we becoming a civilization of addicts?

homes: THE RICHLAND ROAD MORE TRAVELED - NEW HOMES, NEW SCHOOL & NEW TENNIS CENTER for AUBURN, Alabama - 03/02/08 12:58 AM
As Auburn continues to grow its population and expand its city limits, the north section is seeing a good measure of exciting developments. 2007 saw the long-awaited completion of Richland Road (August), whereby a narrow, low access road was transformed into a 35-foot wide city street, with curbs, gutters, and 8-foot sidewalks. From Shug Jordan Parkway, the road extends over a mile, and, according to proposed city planning, is expected to ultimately connect to an Auburn Outer Loop, connecting the I-85 and the 280. Traffic lights are currently being installed at the intersection of Shug Jordan and Richland Road. The construction

homes: COUNTING LEAPS - the Leap Day logic of ActiveRain - 02/29/08 06:29 AM
Today is our EXTRA DAY, the 29th day of February, sneaking in on our calendars only once every 4 years. Maybe it's a good day for looking at how we leap... I once listened to a physics professor who explained how LEAPS occur in evolution (which can be applied to the evolution of anything---physical/mental/spiritual.) Simply stated, all the components reach a certain balance and begin spinning at a velocity so great that it causes A LEAP to the next level--- that could be the next level of enlightenment, the next level of awareness about something, the next level of a relationship,

Hope this link will be working now. Getting ready for 2008! LEE COUNTY in Alabama is an exciting place to be right now. There is a lot of growth and expansion going on and a ton of good folks here. There are also, like everywhere else, a lot of wonderful animals... people with horses and guinea fowl, goats and sheep, and of course all the domestic animals like dogs, cats & birds. My dog, BHODI has been lost since Thanksgiving. If you've ever lost a pet, you know how I feel. I'm hoping she will find her way HOME soon, and
