Caroline County's annual Summerfest starts today at 5 PM in Denton, Maryland.  Todays activities run from 5 PM to 10 PM and tomorrow from 12 PM to 9 PM.  Rain date is Sunday.  Come on out and have a good time . . . lots of food, vendors, fun activities and games for kids, and entertainment for all.

August 18th - Twilight Tunes at the Caroline County Courthouse Green, in Denton, MD, starting at 5:30 PM, right across the street from my Sunset Properties Real Estate Office, which is at 110 Market Street, Denton, MD, 21629
August 20th and 21st - Caroline Summerfest, Friday 5 to 10 PM and Saturday 2 to 10 PM. Fun, food, booths, musicians, entertainers, and fireworks. This is a free, annual, event.  Much of Market Street is closed to vehicle traffic. Come out and have fun!

denton: Non-Resident Owners of Maryland Property - Transfer Tax (Withholding) Rate Increase - 01/02/08 05:26 AM
Maryland increased its Non-Resident real property transfer "withholding" tax, effective January 1, 2008, from 6% to 6.75 % for individuals and from 7 % to 8.25 % for corporations.  If you own real estate in Maryland but you are not a Maryland resident when you sell it you are subject to the withholding. In many  cases you can recover the withholding. It will require filing a Maryland "Non Resident" tax return (Form 505) and Form MW506NRS. Go to http://business.marylandtaxes.com/taxinfo/withholding/sale_property.asp for full details.
