Flags are flying all over town thanks to the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise group. The Rotary Club has a wonderful flag lease program that helps neighborhoods celebrate 5 patriotic holidays a year without fail. The flag lease program also helps raise money for many worthwhile causes in the community such as Make-a-Wish foundation, local children's health clinics, high school leadership programs, and clothing assistance programs just to name a few. Rotary's reach also extends worldwide in helping to eradicate polio and in providing clean water in India.

We're in for a treat -- the McKinney Garden Club has scheduled their biennial Garden & Home Tour, Summer Scented Splendors, for Saturday, June 12, 2010. This year the garden club tour will feature styles for everyone, highlighting gardens of historical homes, tropical gardens, and organic gardens with outdoor living areas, ponds and winding pathways.

I confess, I love a good yard sale! I like discovering a deal and hearing the sellers' stories. I even enjoy a little feeling of satisfaction knowing that I'm "recycling" in my own fun way!
COOL STUFF I'VE FOUND AT YARD SALES:
Antique Furniture . . . One of my favorite finds is a handsome chest of drawers brought back from a neighbor's visit abroad. He was moving and it had to go! For $100 I bought a timeless piece of English furniture for less than the price of a Target futon!

DocuSign sent out an announcement today stating that e-signed "real estate contracts are now being accepted by the Federal Housing Administration with the issuance of today's mortgagee letter."
Here's what Insurance News reported this afternoon:
The April 8, 2010 dated FHA mortgagee letter is the first in what is expected to be a series of responses to this initiative. We don't get snow days here very often, and when we do, it's cause for celebration! This past February, the fluffy flakes fell all day long accumulating 12 inches and setting a record for snow fall not seen here for over 25 years! The kids bundled up and made their way to the tallest hill in town by the neighborhood lake.
