The beautiful fountain in front of Stonebridge Ranch Country Club was turned into something other-worldly during McKinney's few days of snow earlier this month.
One passerby said it brought to mind a tiered cake dripping with sweet frosting. Another said it sparkled like a crystal chandelier.
What comes to your mind?
We're so lucky here in our area that we can enjoy some of the beauty of winter without the challenges that come from weeks of snow on the ground. In the next couple days we here in McKinney will get another opportunity! Get ready, the cold air is coming!

First snow of 2011 for Stonebridge Ranch -- McKinney, TX
This boy and his puppy were outside ready to play as soon as the first flakes fell.
Snow day! Big fluffy flakes dropped all afternoon and piled up into a thick blanket on the ground. The Stonebridge Ranch neighborhood kids were out in it the second the flakes started falling.
In McKinney, you don't see snow that often. Some winters will have none at all, and others might bring the white stuff only once or twice in a season. Then there's always the chance the snow won't stick. Sometimes it just melts … (0 comments)

Community Food Pantry of McKinney -- Collin County, Texas
Today I made another visit to the Community Food Pantry of McKinney to drop off several donations from the residents of Stonebridge Ranch. It's a group effort -- I'm just the delivery part of the service.
Stonebridge Ranch Ladies Association and the Stonebridge Ranch Home Owners Association have teamed up to get the word out every month to remind residents to donate food when they can. The HOA collects the donations at their nearby office and I deliver the food across town to the food pantry itself -- usually every couple weeks.

A Year in Review for 2010!
The Autumn Ridge neighborhood in McKinney, TX is one of the best kept secrets in town! This jewel of a neighborhood is so well situated that residents can easily walk to Glen Oaks Elementary School, one of the finest in the country. Also just a few steps away is excellent Dowell Middle School, the YMCA, the Beach Club, lighted tennis courts, beautiful hike and bike trails, shopping, dining, Stonebridge Ranch Country Club, and the list goes on!

As usual, the SRLA Yard Sale was another great success! The day was gorgeous and the shoppers and vendors alike had a wonderful time. One shopper who comes every year said with a laugh, "I never realize all the great stuff I really need until I get here and see it all!" A first-time vendor said, "I had so much fun! I can't wait until the next sale this Fall!"

Another great day in McKinney was spent at the Vintage Car Show near Stonebridge Ranch. Car lovers from all over the area participated. Most of the cars on display were vintage classics, but we enjoyed a few of the hot "new classics" as well. See some of the highlights in the 30 second clip below!
