I received this email below from one of the Down Payment Assitance companies that was encouraging enough to post and share.  This means that now more than ever congress needs to hear from us.  I'm working on a follow up post for the activerain community that I will send out later today that details the exact number of families that used DPA in the last 5 months in Texas and more specifically DFW.

Be on the lookout for it...

here is the email:

Matt,

Momentum is building for H.R. 6694 which would save Downpayment Assistance, but there's still more convincing to do! Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Barney Frank, reported at Saturday's hearing that the bill is certain to pass in the House of Representatives and has the approval of HUD. Frank urged "What you want to do now obviously is talk to your senators. We think it will go through there - it has the approval now of the Secretary of HUD." If we continue to work hard together, DPA could be reinstated by the October 1st deadline that's currently in place.

Please help us target our Senators, letting them know that you support downpayment assistance and to pass H.R. 6694.

Go to RallyForHomeownership.org (even if you've been there before) and ask Congress to specifically pass H.R 6694.

Call your State Senators and tell them why they need to support H.R. 6694. Get Your Senators' Phone Numbers HERE!

To more abundant life,
