What is working for you in your area? - 08/22/07 09:12 AM
As I recognize that Active Rain brings in agents from around the country, I thought it might be nice to see what others are doing in order to facilitate the sale of real estate. As few of us on here are in direct competition, I hope that everyone will be willing to share openly. Things I do: 1. Top-ranked website 2. Postcards to target areas 3. Letters to fsbo's 4. Client testimonials in a "brag book" that I can take with me as needed to appointments What is working for you? (7 comments)
What has made you smile this week? - 08/15/07 07:05 PM
Three things: I had an auction on Sunday. Right before we were getting ready to start, an auctioneer friend of mine from FLORIDA rides up on his Harley (I'm in Ohio). Within 5 minutes I had him off the bike and helping me move furniture. He's taking a vacation and riding around the country visiting friends. It was great to see him and was totally unexpected. Today a friend of ours got into a car accident. The driver of the other car happened to be a dwarf. He got out of his car, looked up at our friend and said "I am not happy". (5 comments)
If your buyer is going to bail, at least have the courtesy of notifying the other agent - 08/14/07 07:30 PM
2nd deal this month to fall through.... This time it's a bank short sale. The bank took too long to respond as to whether they would take the buyer's offer and the buyer moved on to another property. The contract period had officially expired, so I really didn't have too much of a problem with it. However, I would have appreciated it if the buyer's agent would have notified me instead of my continuing to work on it from my end. I found out through the title company. So much for thinking I was going to have a closing on it... So, fellow agents, please work (6 comments)
Home staging or home cleanout...develop a relationship with an auctioneer - 08/11/07 06:17 PM
I have read many posts about home staging (which I really do think is a good thing). As an auctioneer, however, that got me to thinking... Essentially, it all boils down to this... Do you have a client who: 1. Needs to clear out the clutter in their house before selling? An auctioneer may be able to help 2. Needs cash for a down payment? An auctioneer may be able to liquidate some of their assets for the cash 3. Needs to downsize from a large home to a smaller one (such as a condo). An auctioneer can help with the downsizing. 4. Job transfer? Why give the (2 comments)
Have you ever thought of referring the trouble properties? - 08/09/07 07:40 AM
As an auctioneer specializing in the sale of real estate at public auction, I would be happy to talk with anyone about how they can refer their property to our team to get it sold. I work with a network of auctioneers around the country who can handle any situation that comes up. Give us a call to see if we can help. (5 comments)
