When people think of South Florida they think of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, but the areas they are really thinking of are quite different form the cities they associate them with. The problem is that there is a barrier island that runs across Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach that creates separate communities and cities for beachfront property.

For instance when people picture Miami they usually picture Ocean Drive with its waterfront cafes and beautiful beach. But the area they are thinking of is located on a barrier island east of Miami known as Miami Beach. Miami Beach has the famous South Beach and beautiful beachfront condos. But, don’t count Miami out; it has trendy condos, incredible restaurants and some great live entertainment as well.

West Palm Beach is another popular spot city people often associate with amazing hoems and beautiful beaches. But, when they are looking at homes, most of them are on Palm Beach an island east of West Palm Beach.

Fort Lauderdale is a major city, but the main area people think of when they are thining of Fort Lauderdale is actually Fort Lauderdale Beach.
