Redneck Joke

From A Mother With Love

Dear Child,

I am writing this slow because I know that you can't read fast.

We don't live where we did when you left home.
Your dad read in the paper that most accidents happen within 20 miles from your home so we moved.

I won't be able to send you the address, as the last family that lived here took the house numbers when they left so that they wouldn't have to change their address.

This place is real nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure if it works too well though.

Last week I put a load in, pulled the chain, and haven't seen them since.

The weather isn't too bad here., it only rained twice last week, The first time it rained for three days and the second time for four days. The coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Steve said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got another bill from the funeral home.

They said if we don't make the last payment on Grandma's grave, up she comes. John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were worried because it took him two hours to get me and Shelby out.

Your sister had a baby this morning but I haven't found out what it is yet, so I don't know if you're an aunt or an uncle. If the baby is a girl, your sister is going to name it after me, she's going to call it Mom.

Uncle Pete fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some man tried to pull him out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pick-up truck. Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.

There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.

PS, I was going to send you some money but the envelope was already sealed.

Mexican Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

12 corn tortillas or lasagna noodles

1 can (14 to 16oz) tomato sauce

1/2 lb. Ricotta cheese (can substitute with 1 cup cottage cheese)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 lb. cheddar cheese, sliced thin or grated

1 cup Mexican salsa or picante sauce

1 med onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, chopped or minced

2 tsp chile powder

2 eggs, slightly beaten

4 oz. diced green chiles

1 can 16 oz. red kidney beans, drained

1 can 8 oz. whole kernel corn, drained

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp oregano

1 lb. ground beef

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. If using lasagna noodles, cook according to package directions or until tender but still firm. Drain, keep warm.

Meanwhile, saute the ground beef, garlic and onion in a large cast iron skillet or heavy frying pan until beef is done. Add tomato sauce, Mexican salsa, green chiles, chile powder, cumin, corn and kidney beans. Stir to mix and simmer on low heat 5 minutes, stirring sauce frequently.

In a separate bowl, combine eggs, ricotta cheese and oregano.

Arrange 6 tortillas on bottom and up sides of lightly greased 9" x 13" deep-sided baking pan, overlapping as needed. If using lasagna pasta arrange a first layer of noodles so the ends hang over the sides of the pan. (The ends will be laid back-over the top for the final layer) Then add about 1/2 of the meat, bean and tomato sauce. Spoon cheese and egg mixture on top of the meat sauce and add 1/2 of the cheddar cheese. Add a second alternating layer of tortillas or pasta, the meat sauce and cheese mixture and top with remaining cheddar cheese. If using noodles, at this point fold over the ends from the first layer.

Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or till cheese is bubbly. Allow to set for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting. Serve extra parmesan or shredded Cheddar cheese at the table. Extra salsa or hot sauce can also be served.

Information on Ridgecrest, CA

Ridgecrest is located in the Mojave Desert east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and west of Death Valley.

History of Ridgecrest

In 1941, the town was called Crumville. Prior to the establishment of the Naval Ordnance Test Station (NOTS) at Inyokern in 1941, only a few scattered farms and homesteads were here. Ridgecrest was then incorporated in 1963. Ridgecrest evolved during the 1950's and 1960's as a support community, vital to the mission of NOTS, by providing housing and services for Federal employees and contractors. NOTS, later China Lake Naval Weapons Center (NWC) was renamed again to (NAWS) home to the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Weapons Division, and continues to be the major source of employment for Ridgecrest residents.

Cities & Towns near Ridgecrest:

Barstow, California: 88 miles southeast.

Inyokern, California: 12 miles west.

Trona, California: 30 miles east.

Bishop, California: 120 miles north.

Big Pine, California: 105 miles north.

Lone Pine, California: 60 miles north.

Victorville, California: 81 miles south.

Mojave, California: 60 miles southwest.

Lancaster, California: 78 miles south.

San Bernardino, California: 115 miles south.

Weather / Climate

The climate is hot days and cool nights, with extreme arid conditions prevailing throughout the summer months. There are wide annual temperature fluctuations that occur from a maximum of 118 degrees F to a minimum of 0 degrees F."

Parks & Monuments near Ridgrcrest

Death Valley National Park: 61 miles east.

Red Rock Canyon State Park: 31 miles west.

Saddleback Butte State Park: 98 miles south.

Sequoia National Park (via Whitney Portal): 80 miles north.

Great riding areas

For those who like to get out and ride quads or motocycles, there is plenty of that to do here in the desert.

Dove Springs/Jawbone Canyon which is about 45 minutes from Ridgecrest has great riding areas.

Small sand dunes up at Olancha which is about one hour from Ridgecrest.

Searles Station which is ten minutes from Ridgecrest. But for you that are not familiar with the desert, please stay on all roads if riding bikes or quads, don't stray off the roads because there are mines out there.

Further east is Dumont Dunes which is about three hours and Armagoso Dunes in Baty is about two and a half hours from Ridgecrest.

For the hikers, there is Sand Canyon which is about one half hour and also Whitney Portals which is a good place to hike.

A lady in our office has made these and said they look so real people are afraid to eat it. You should get a laugh out of it. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird's® dessert mix)
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls®

1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter (pan liner)

1 new pooper scooper

Directions

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.

Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!

Flower Pot Dirt Cake

Ingredients

1-1/2 to 2 pounds Oreos

1/4 pound (1 stick) margarine
4 packages instant chocolate pudding (made according to directions)
12 ounces non-dairy whipped topping (like Cool Whip®)
Candy gummy worms

Instructions
Clean a new plastic flower pot (a rectangular window box is perfect) and a gardening shovel or trowel. Crush the cookies in a food processor or place them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin. The crumbs will resemble potting soil. Mix crumbs with melted margarine and make a 2-inch crust on the bottom of the flower pot. Combine the pudding and whipped topping, then spread on the crust. Put gummy worms on the pudding and spread the remaining crumbs on top. You can arrange some of the gummy worms so that their heads poke out of the "soil". Refrigerate overnight. Wrap the stems of some artificial flowers with foil and arrange in the pot, then serve the cake using the trowel.

Keys

I receiced this today and thought I would pass it on.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD IDEA!!!!

I'M SURE ALL OF YOU HAVE AN EXTRA SET OF KEYS. JUST PUT A SET BY
YOUR
BEDSIDE TABLE. I DID & IT WORKED!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST (and
cheapest) DETERRENTS I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!!!!

I tried this from our bedroom and it worked!!!!--I tried it during
the day time so I wouldn't shake up the neighborhood.

A lady police officer passed this on and I felt that it might be of
some benefit for others.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise
outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press
the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn
will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery
dies. This tip came from a Neighborhoods watch coordinator.

Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys
away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably
already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from
most everywhere inside your house a nd will keep honking until your
battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key
chain.

It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm
goes off when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the
burglar or rapist won't stick around....after a few seconds all the
neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and
sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your
keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the
same way there.....

This is something that should really be shared with everyone.

Maybe it could save a life or prevent a sexual abuse crime!
