Some interesting ongoing debates...throughout the blogosphere...people seem to STILL feel contempt towards the big dawgs...you know REALTOR.com.....Zillow and Trulia....
A question was posed to me...why send them to these places when they should be hitting your site...the point is CONSUMERS should be hitting your site...no debate here BUT when I think of what we do as listing agents...our job is to market listings to anyone and everyone and if that means its not your site?  It's bad and wrong????

Somehow, someway I have lost all balance with my online marketing.  I'm here and there and spending many many hours online every single day.
I know what goes on with many of my online friends and I keep up to date on all kinds of information and sometimes I get lost in my virtual world.

Ever look at your recent readers on mybloglog?  While most have their avatar up there are those that do not.  Maybe they think it's not important or just didn't get around to it.

If you are not utilizing Google maps you are really missing the boat.  Did you know by creating a Google map it can very well place you on the top of the search engines..the map that is!

I come from the old school of marketing...where branding and consistency is extremely important...familiarity is the point of the consistency...I wonder does that include avatars?

 
A few days ago...someone said to me...that maybe I should change my avatar..its been a year and I admit..I look very different...all it took was the hair to grow and for me to get a deep tan.
When I think of marketing... I believe in consistency...I believe in familiarity...and so does the consumer...
Plain and simple its called branding..like McDonalds or even CENTURY 21.

I love the fact you can promote your area in this way....To be specific....by address...by business name...by city and state!

Agents ask me all the time should I use Multi-Million Dollar Producer in my marketing?  I might get beat up right here in this post...but in most instances I tell them NO!  Our words are powerful and we can send mixed messages especially if..we are looking to grow our businesses.

 I personally do not enjoy name tags, I was a grocery store manager in my past, imagine checking 50 associates for name tags every day!  That was part of my job for 5 very long years.
In retail, name tags are as important as wearing shoes!

It really amazes me how some associates neglect their sphere of influence.  We complain about rising marketing costs but we don't really pay attention to the facts.  Did you know according to NAR statistics 2005 44% of buyers and seller's come from our sphere of influence.  It makes sense to me to spend a portion of my marketing dollars on them.
 We expect the people we know to automatically refer business to us but do not take the time or energy to nurture these relationships.  I can bet you that if you picked the phone up today and wished them … (3 comments)
