real estate professionals: Real Estate Professionals Is Coaching and Accountability Micromanaging? - 06/15/08 04:59 AM
From the time I started in this business.....I have always looked at ways to be better...to be more efficient..and competitive.  To grow and learn and thrive.  While I have always been my hardest critic and my own biggest fan sometimes...someone steps in..and hands you a reality check and you learn...you don't know everything...and there will always be a better way...and more efficient way..and the ability to always do more.

While attending a recent training session with 3 separate companies in the room, one thing that was up for discussion was a new coaching and accountability program.
Now I missed the … (27 comments)

real estate professionals: Real Estate Professionals, Do You Text With Your Customers? tnx4readN - 05/09/08 11:10 PM
Real Estate Industry Professionals, Do You Text With Your Customers? I do and I really love it! For me if I have a quick question or the customer has a concern right then and there. You can address it often times faster than an e-mail or a phone call.

While I do not have the text dictionary memorized..I do read and skim through..if someone uses letters or symbols I do not understand I do take the time to read it and learn and try to use it too!
Recently I told a customer that I really appreciated the fact we … (10 comments)

real estate professionals: Real Estate Professionals How Far Will You Go? - 04/24/08 09:26 PM
Today I attended a training about Predatory Lending it was quite interesting and it made me wonder, how far will you go to give a buyer or seller mortgage advice.

Just how far will real estate professionals will go?  Meaning do you try to get them a better deal or step in and refer them to other lenders if they can't get approved?
Do you question good faith estimates?  How far into the mortgage process do you go through?  How involved are you in the loan process? Do you quote rates?  How about their compensation?  Do you question it?
For me I … (24 comments)

real estate professionals: Real Estate Professionals Sometimes You Just Have To Withdraw Those Overpriced Listings! - 04/06/08 05:50 AM
Sometimes being a Real Estate Trainer can be quite frustrating, not that different from a real estate professional or a buyer or seller. For me, its painful to watch an agent take a listing for a year...to spend a years worth of marketing and still no sales contract and then come to me and ask why their listing hasn't sold.
Once we go through the file..I notice..overpriced...no price reduction in sight..unsaleable..sometimes uncooperative....darn it...get smart and withdraw that listing!

Since starting the second quarter...I have been watching our inventory..and I am shocked as to how few listings we have as a company..until … (32 comments)

real estate professionals: Buyers and Seller's Need Real Estate Soldiers! - 03/19/08 06:40 PM
A little dose of inspiration is sometimes in order.  Today I had an incredible day.  Very busy and very productive.  Funny thing I didn't feel that way just a few days ago.

Now the agents in my office are working hard, harder than ever before but I see the discouragement, the disappointment and the unknown, you can't miss it's written all over their face.
I sometimes have days where I wonder why bother? Who cares? They don't...Why should I?
But for some reason I keep plugging away. I keep learning...and fighting and trying new ways. One of the things I learned … (23 comments)

real estate professionals: TO Any Property Seller: Urgent Message Please Read! - 03/04/08 09:17 PM
Now is the time to take action.  Many of us including myself have been sending the message to buyer's that now is the time to buy.  Well Mr. and Mrs. Seller we need you to do your part and maybe the process will go a little smoother and before you know there is a chance you could be Mr. and Mrs. Sold.  Let me explain how I work and we can work together.
I am here to assist you, not make decisions for you but present the facts so you can feel good about your decision.  Keep in mind in most … (16 comments)

real estate professionals: Speakerphone....Use it Wisely Real Estate Professionals! - 01/21/08 07:32 AM

Funny thing when real estate professionals get on the phone.  Often times they think they are in the room alone.
I am guilty of it too...carrying on ....on the phone...
Just me and the person on the other end.
Careful and don't assume.
There might be a good chance you are on speaker phone and how many people are listening to you now?
Recently this has happened to me where a real estate professional put me on speaker phone and their customer was standing right there with them.
In my mind this is a sensitive issue and for many reasons.
Ever been out in public and heard … (23 comments)

real estate professionals: Are You A Real Estate Professional? Learn To Speak The Language! - 10/18/07 12:00 PM
I have learned through the years, words matter. Your tone, the way you present words and the words you choose will and can make the difference in your real estate buyers and sellers minds.
Often times these words play a key role in getting a customer where you want them. That is to buy or sell real estate. While Real Estate Professionals should be experts in their fields, sorry but you have to have some sale skills and be strong in negotiations.
You have to have good timing and you have to be a great listener. No matter how you slice … (59 comments)

real estate professionals: Board Defers Local Dues - 11/09/06 09:45 AM

In the Daytona, our local dues will be defered until June.  Here is a quote from Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtor's Treasurer, David Wyant.  "With the increase in membership, we can afford to give the members a six-month break on their local dues."
We will still get a bill in December but for only the FAR dues and NAR dues.  Our local dues will not be billed until June.
What do you think and are any of the other associations in the country doing the same for their professionals?

real estate professionals: I Was Impressed......."We Still Want You to be Successful!" - 10/05/06 10:56 PM
Have you ever met someone who really impressed you?  Well tonight, I did.  His name is Joseph and he is my peer with Keller Williams Florida Partners.  I had the pleasure of enjoying their grand opening and felt honored to receive an invitation.  He too is the Trainer/Recruiter of his company.
When I first spoke to Joseph Klosik, he was trying to recruit me.  Happens to everyone.  I know.   I had to tell him I too was a Trainer/Recruiter for Century 21 Sundance Realty.  I really did not want to waste his time or mine.  He in turn, mailed me … (1 comments)
