realtors: Alphabet Soup or Real Estate Designations! - 05/20/10 08:53 PM
As you know that there are more and more real estate designations popping up.  Not only are designations given by NAR, independent training companies as well as real estate companies issue designations.  Recently while reviewing an agents site I think I came on to something.  I have to share.....
At one time I felt that real estate designations where not important, while we know in the industry they mean something...the initials that is...rarely did I ever really pay attention.
Alphabet Soup or Real Estate Designations? But as I started reading the criteria in which an agent must obtain these simple initials...the … (14 comments)

realtors: Do You Make Decisions For Your Real Estate Buyers? - 07/21/09 11:58 AM
When I bought my first house..my agent made a lot of decisions for me...while we discussed offering price..one thing I knew..regardless of what the agent said I thought about my affordability.  Meaning..it was important to keep my payment at a certain place..that meant..if I could not keep my payment where I wanted it.  I had to keep looking...looking for a home that I could afford.
I didn't know much about obtaining a mortgage..or title insurance...it was OK..my REALTOR picked them for me..but if I knew then what I know now...would I have done things differently...you betcha!
Do you as an … (67 comments)

realtors: Being The Bearer of Bad News In A Real Estate Transaction - 01/29/09 08:14 AM
Why does the public sometimes views us the way we do?  Is there a misunderstanding?  Lack of Communication or is it over promising and under delivering..Have you ever thought about it especially for someone who sits and waits to buy their first home..they are excited..overjoyed...but something has gone array..no return calls...and no explanation...we dial...redial...and email..and waste time because we can't get straight answers and in truth any answers..sounds grim right?..and then someone has to be the bearer of bad news but the problem is getting the bad news out!

Loan officers I don't want to be in your shoes..but we … (18 comments)

realtors: When Should You Report Bad Customer Service? - 12/05/08 10:04 AM
A few months back I had a bad customer service experience..well I can't say it was bad service..but more like bad conversation..an employee of this establishment talked politics..with the same passion as the ladies on the view..I admit she stressed me out and I found her to be hateful and rude......once she saw what I did for a living...she ran back to trash one of the REALTORS in our company. Was I insulted?  Yes I was... so insulted I swore I would never go back.

Problem was I needed the service again..and they are the best in town.
I asked … (49 comments)

realtors: Creepy Crawlers...The Things This REALTOR Will Do To Earn A Commission - 09/23/08 08:03 AM
Recently I have stepped into a short sale to get it to closing..as a matter of fact finally we were able to place the property in pending status..because we received our approval letter.  HOORAY!
Now keep in mind the seller has NO money..otherwise they would probably not be in the position they are in today! No they were not frivolous...nor made a bad investment...it's health issues..plain and simple even with insurance...the cost of medications..need I really say more?

One of the requests the buyer had was pretty simple...get the pool cleaned up, right? Well think again.
My first day … (15 comments)

realtors: IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE MARKET TAKES YOU OUT! - 09/20/08 04:30 PM
How many times have you heard an agent rudely say?...I've been in this business for xx amount of years...or Why isn't your short sale pending or attempt to correct you and end up making a fool of themselves because they do not know what they are talking about?...imagine that..and there is that slim...slim...chance you might become the co-operating broker..oh did I say that?  Cooperating Broker.. I doubt it..because I believe..cooperating was never the true intent.
Often times agents behave in the same way they see their markets..often times..some get so frustrated..they are rude..not focused...and extremely obnoxious and we question why the … (56 comments)

realtors: Full-Time VS. Part Time Real Estate Agent? What's The Definition to you? - 07/02/08 06:59 AM
Yesterday in our sales meeting we talked about the Makeover2Takeover contest.  My apprentice, Jeannette Neerpat puts approximately 20 hours a week in real estate.  Years ago that might be considered part-time but today, if you streamline your business you can infact work fewer hours and enjoy getaways and vacations.

Quality hours working with systems and tools to help you to be much more efficient..
That's what this contest has given Jeannette..a much easier way to manage her real estate career.

realtors: Have A License in Florida????? Yes...Realtors® Are Dropping Like Flies! - 01/14/08 02:33 PM
We've all been sitting back and waiting...waiting to see if the number of Realtors® dwindle...they are.....and in Volusia and Flagler County.  I know as I am an active member of the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors®.
Recently we have heard some shocking news...some of our most active agents at our local board are retiring...moving on to new projects...
Why?  For some real estate is no longer fruitful.
One of the great things a retired Realtor®  has in most instances is a book of business...
As a retired Realtor® ..why would you let you business go?
Why not start your new project and generate additional income.
If … (22 comments)
