social networking: A New Love Affair Begins..MrTweet.Net! - 03/10/09 12:38 AM
Well it happened last night while checking out twitter...I added followers and checked out my replies..my direct messages come to me via mobile.  I like this set up..and in the process something happened...

I fell in love...love at first site!
According to many experts I do not use twitter in the way that I should...
I have conversations when the mood strikes me or when I am not too busy...not because I do not like twitter...its because I need to learn the fine art of very short conversation!
There are occasions I feel uncomfortable jumping into conversations...not because I've … (15 comments)

social networking: Reblogging-Why Not Comment On The Original Post? - 03/08/09 01:24 AM
I love reblogging..I've written a few posts about the advantages and the power of reblogging a post.  One of the things I do appreciate is the ability to get a particular message out..
A great call to action...a message worth repeating... But one thing I really don't understand..if an article is so good to be reblogged..why not post a comment on the original post?
Why not send the kudos to the original author? Anytime I post a reblog..I always want to include the words please comment on the original post..bloggers put much effort on posts especially if the content is quality...quality … (39 comments)

social networking: Is There A Shift On Activerain? - 01/23/09 11:23 PM
I've noticed something and am not sure if anyone else has but in reading many blog posts.. I noticed...either non-members are commenting or members are forgetting to log in!

Interesting don't you think?
Is it that comments without links are non members or are they members just not logging in?
Looking at my traffic and where it is coming from...
I think there is a good chance that there might be more non members commenting on our posts...
If that is the case...
I try never to miss an opportunity..yup here it goes....
Ahhh..
I just can't resist...let me … (37 comments)

social networking: Am I Breaking Some Rules Of Social Networking? Yes I Am - 01/11/09 04:45 AM
"If at first you don't succeed try, try again!"  This is one of my motto's for this year..and I admit....I lack discipline..or maybe self control...when it comes to Activerain..in truth..I figured out something about myself...I need an audience.......a guaranteed audience and I need to make money...and that's one of the many benefits Activerain has given me....

In the past I have tried to launch other sites for myself...
I pay for web hosting and sometimes wonder why?  My favorite platforms are the freebies..and the best part of these freebies...they are social platforms..with a built in audience..with built in SEO...and … (59 comments)

social networking: No Links? Why Blog-Social Networking is Marketing Too! - 12/29/08 06:18 AM
It's an interesting thing...many write...but don't link...for me I have to reference...past posts...because no matter how you slice it...Blogging...Social Networking..is marketing too!

I've had my hand slapped for self promoting...by one silent blogger...
But for every one of those hand slapping bloggers..there are many who appreciate the extra links... and don't get offended by the self promotion...
After all that is what most bloggers are trying to accomplish...
Readers..Friends..Business..and opportunities..
Get Your Name Out...its a huge blogosphere and you want a piece of it, right?
Take into consideration..how many utilize the net...every day...every hour...every minute..
My goal everyday is … (68 comments)

social networking: Can't Master Online Tools or Social Networking-Hire a College Student! - 12/16/08 12:12 AM
If you compare the statistics by NAR on the technology habits of Real Estate Industry professionals vs. 1st time homebuyers..keep in mind..the stats are very different.
Think about the average age of a real estate industry professional (Generation Baby Boomers) vs. the 1st time homebuyer (Generation Y) ..again their is big differences.  In habits...in generations..and in the methods in which we all choose to communicate.
And web 2.0 isn't going anywhere!  As a matter of fact..just like everything else..it seems to change..and many are struggling to keep up with the changes.
As I talk to real estate professionals I find … (15 comments)

social networking: How Do You Pick Blog Topics? - 12/11/08 12:08 AM
Last night someone called me and asked me how do I pick my blog topics...I had to tell the truth often times..there is no rhyme or reason.....sometimes I sit in a trance like state..and my husband asks..
"What's wrong?" The truth is...its my blog topic...and its my thinking look when I am getting ready to write a blog post.
Sometimes something occurs in the day..which triggers a blog post.. Other times...it starts brewing in my head for days on end..and finally it gets put into a blog post. I tend to look up top searches and sometimes..top searches..equals awesome blog material. … (20 comments)

social networking: What Would You Do If Your Broker Said Stop Blogging? - 11/01/08 03:26 AM
Did you know that many businesses have banned some technologies.. technologies such as facebook, IM and Skype?
According to Peter Bradwell, a Demos researcher and author of the UK think tank demos report, believes that the benefits outweigh the risks.
He also pointed to the use of Facebook and LinkedIn in developing working relationships, although he admitted that a lot of organizations tend to ban these applications..
Read the full story because its really educational and useful! I remember about a year ago..reports of bloggers being sued started to surface on the net.  Hmmm..look where we are at now...a lotta suing going … (110 comments)

social networking: Why I Conduct Interviews and You Could Be Next! Ask and You Shall Recieve..A Lot Like Real Estate! - 04/26/08 04:30 AM
It's getting close to my 2 year anniversary in blogging and I am so surprised at the results I have obtained..so impressed with the people I have met along the way and as long as WEB 2.0 is around I will continue to be committed to partake in this phenomenon. So why do I conduct interviews?  Social Networking...it's all about people..its connecting..and building relationships and communities.  Its about growth...its about sharing and sometimes that means sharing the limelight.
Now I don't know about you but since blogging my opportunities have increased..my mind has expanded but most of all I now know so many … (30 comments)

social networking: Social Networking + Meeting =BFF (Blogging Friends Forever) - 03/30/08 02:28 PM
Today was a memorable day, one that  I will talk about months to come, heck in reality probably throughout my life-time.  Yes some friends come and go but today I met one I hope to be blogging friends forever!
Sound silly, maybe but really isn't that what we strive for?
"Friends become referrals, referrals become customer's and in my mind I want to keep all of them forever."

I had the pleasure of meeting one of my favorite blogger's today, Ann Cummings and the Legendary Bear.
You have to understand.... how much I dislike the cold and she make that fluffy stuff look … (26 comments)

social networking: Blogging Class In Session, Tips on Gaining Customer's Everyday! - 03/13/08 04:18 PM
One of the most mind boggling things for me to understand about blogging is SEO, we worry so much about if our blogs can be found or our placement on the search engines.  Yes its important but I think sometimes we tend to forget, its WEB 2.0 and we have to invite people in.

Face it social networking is all about letting people in and growing our own little communities.
The more readers you have the more visits you receive.  Building relationships on Web 2.0 to me is much more valuable than top placement on the web.
Often times...with Web 2.0 … (39 comments)

If you don't know much about Jericho the network tried to cancel the show but the fan's would not have it.  We got on blogs, we got on forums and sent peanuts to CBS.
Truly an amazing story...an amazing social networking story!  CBS got the message and the fan's won!  Jericho is back...by popular demand tonight on CBS at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The message here is there is so much power behind a very large network...we have that power right here right now...with 71,139 on the network...and 2,098 on-line.

social networking: Do You Hear It? The Buzz That Is! Cre8buzz...and You Can Too! - 11/26/07 03:01 PM
Recently Bill Gassett had invited me to Cre8buzz so naturally I had to try it out!  There are quite a few familiar faces on the buzz.  Some of my favorite reads.
Now recently "The Antman" and I have been corresponding a bit.  He is usually the first friend you will make.  Kind of like Tom from myspace but the difference is The Antman jumps around and I mean he really gets around visits and personally comments.  Not sure if Tom does but I only get system generated e-mails from him.

For me, I want my name everywhere on the net....I want … (32 comments)

social networking: Facebook Rocks! Happy Birthday Julie Ferenzi! - 10/07/07 11:14 PM

One of the best things that I have found with the  Activerain network is often times we are lead to other great places on the web.
In September I joined Facebook, at first I thought it was quite silly.
Why, because I just had never been there before and I really didn't know what to do with it.
Everyday one of my contacts or friends has sent me right back to Facebook to use yet another application.
So what is Facebook?

"Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around … (18 comments)
