Is it a good plan or not? Over the past few months, Balboa Park in Downtown San Diego, has been undergoing debate on whether or not the new plan to get rid of the cars inside the museum area to make it more pedestrian friendly was going to happen or not. This 33 million dollar plan that Irwin Jacobs (co-founder of Qualcomm) proposed have passed. The plan will divert traffic around the historical Plaza de Panama and into a new parking structure to keep traffic at a minimum. As a downtown San Diego resident there are certain events you can count on each year and Festival of Sail is one of them. Located in the North Embarcadero, some of the tallest ships in the world will dock for the west coast’s largest tall ship festival. Held over Labor Day Weekend, the festival feels like a nautical theme park with ships to board, cannonball fights, pirates, live music, good eats and crafty vendors. Kids LOVE this event as they receive a passport to be stamped each time they explore a new ship. Adults love this event for the same reasons. Tickets are $15 for adults and (1 comments)

As a steady follower of the construction of the new public library…I just wanted to give you guys an update on the progress here in Downtown San Diego. If you haven’t been by to see it, then I urge you to take a look the next time you are in the East Village/Ballpark District. The final product is going to consist of nine stories and will entail a cafe, events gathering site, an auditorium, a school, underground parking and a whole lot more.
