off topic: A dog's view of getting a bath. Enjoy. - 01/26/14 12:57 AM
OK, I have two dogs, and neither one likes to take a bath. The little one is easy. I just put him in the laundry sink and he's good. The Rottie, is 150lbs, and there is nowhere to put him to get him bathed. So, he makes regular trips to the groomer to get pampered.
The video below is what my little dog acts like after his bath. I'm not sure about the big guy, but I'll be sure to ask the groomer the next time he's in. A special thanks to blog.PetFlow.com for this hilarious video. Enjoy it!

off topic: So that's what the wife says about me when I'm not around. - 03/10/13 08:32 AM
It's nice to see what the wife says about me when I'm not around.  Buffy, gives a participant's view of our event yesterday.  She is in the process of making really cool "Thank You" cards for me to send to the contributors and workers.  I hope you enjoy her blog.  I sure did.

Yesterday, Mike had a 10-hour indoor cycling fundraiser for a local charity.  I'm so proud of him.  This is the second one he's organized, and both were incredibly successful.  He tries to incorporate live music for an hour … (9 comments)

off topic: Did I just hear banjos? - 03/02/13 07:10 AM
I live in a valley between two beautiful mountain ranges.  Most of my real estate work is done down here in the valley, but every so often a client wants to see a mountain home.  Today was one of those days.
I do enjoy those trips up into the mountains, sometimes.  I had a nice young couple come to town a while back, and they were looking for a mountain getaway.  We met at the first house on a lower portion of one of the local ranges.  When I rounded the bend and saw them in the very nice Audi, … (12 comments)

off topic: Real men buy tampons. - 02/17/13 02:45 AM
OK, ladies, you probably know this, but there are certain things men were not designed to do.  Decades ago, I would have included vacuuming in this category, but with the advent of adjustable vacuum cleaners with more power and different height levels, it has become more like off-roading now and it can be quite entertaining for us.
This topic came up this morning with the first wife and a memory came flooding back.  We were in the early years of our marriage, and she popped the question.  "Would you go to he store and get me some tampons?"  You can only … (29 comments)

off topic: Please tell your dog to stop dialing 911. - 01/28/13 02:11 AM
On the way out the door this morning, I told my dog that he was out of snacks and I would have to stop by the store today to pick some up.  Of course, I assumed that sounded a lot like Charlie Brown's parents speaking to him. Waa-waa-waa-waa, waaa-wa.
A little while later, I was in a meeting with a client and the phone rang.  It was my wife.  The police were at our house wanting to know why we called 911.  She was a bit puzzled, so she called me to find out.  I didn't call, but it was … (31 comments)

off topic: Here's your fine . . . - 12/16/12 06:23 AM
The local paper in Winchester does an interesting page every Monday.  On Monday they publish articles from 100 years ago, 75 years ago, 50 years ago and 25 years ago.  I'm always most fascinated with the 100 years ago.  Since I wasn't here to remember them they tend to be the most enlightening and entertaining.
On a recent Monday edition, the first story was my favorite.  It seems that the postmaster had complained to the local city government that too many men were spitting tobacco on the floor.  There were spittoons all around, but these uncouth city slickers had taken to … (27 comments)

off topic: Things I've learned along the way. - 08/21/12 10:33 AM
Life is a learning experience, and most of us could write a book about the things we've learned along the way.  I have a few things I probably wouldn't put in my book of life lessons, but they are important things I've learned.  Such as:
Never feed a gaseous dog broccoli.  TSA agents do not have a sense of humor no matter how hard you try. Do not drink a Coke while eating Mentos. A cat is really, really hard to bathe. I am not exempt from gravity. Never wash reds and whites together. Do not park under a power line.  … (13 comments)
