grand canyon: Adobe Lightroom Magic - 12/14/09 06:47 PM
I took this photo just over 5 years ago and was never very happy with it. The building and foreground were too dark and the canyon in the background was washed out. So, I've just ignored it for 5 years. Then, today, I was going through my old images and came across this one and started "playing" with it. Photo software has improved immensely in the last few years and Adobe Lightroom wasn't even available at that time. Of course Adobe Photoshop had the capability to improve this image - I just never took the time to jump through all

grand canyon: Combining Images in Photoshop - 04/15/09 07:29 PM
Photoshop is an amazing piece of software. One of the really cool things it can do is merge images in several ways. Two possibilities are: Merge to a panorama, or Merge into a composite. The panorama is very useful when you have a scene that is just too wide (or tall) for the lens you may have available. So, you can shoot a series of images, overlapping them by about 20% or so and then through the magic of Photoshop, those images can be put together into a seamless panorama.
