localism: LIVE HOT LINKS! Posting to the AR Hyper Local Challenge? Make it EASY for AR to access your posts, and you may get your 7000 Pointeroos quicker. - 03/31/10 10:05 AM
I'm having fun fooling around with my Localism stuff for the Hyper-Local Challenge.  It got me back into the groove a little of putting up some Localism content, as I was pretty slack for a while.  The spring blooms, and Carolina Blue Sky draw me out  with the ol' Kodak, too.
The "registration" of Hyper Local Posts in Bob Stewart's Hyper Local Challenge Blog as comments reminds me of my favorite saying regarding listing property to sell, "Make it easy for someone to buy your home."  In that I refer to scanning documents and loading them to the MLS, offering duplicates of disclosures, etc, in … (11 comments)

localism: Hanging out at the Home Show, with the REBarcampRDU crowd... - 09/27/09 06:29 AM
I keep a booth at the Southern Shows events in Raleigh.  That would be the Southern Ideal Home Shows, both Fall and Spring Edition.  I hover on the bubble, whether to continue to do them, or not.  But I enjoy meeting people in that milieu, and so I keep on.
It is "Old School" marketing, for sure.  Fun.  Meet and Greet.  Belly to Belly.  Speed Dating-style.  Two or three seconds or less for the elevator speech to people who are moving past.   I tell people "Hi.  I'm working my way through high school selling houses..."  And yesterday, I visited with folks who are leaders … (16 comments)

Heere's my mindset:
I have found that people moving to the area, who have never spent quality time here, absolutely hunger for local information, and photos deliver it.  As a Cary, NC, real estate agent, I try to serve them and deliver … (16 comments)

localism: Raleigh, NC: Giving back...Well, NOT the donuts... - 01/28/07 07:53 AM
How do YOU give back to your community?  Here's one way.
I posted these two Raleigh, NC landmarks on Localism, and now I see in today's Raleigh News and Observer that they have been united as the terminus boundaries of a sophisticated and educational charitable fund-raising event.
The idea: Start at the NC State University Bell Tower:

Run 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme Donut Shop on Person Street:

Wolf down a dozen glazed donuts and run back to the Bell Tower.  In less than an hour.  Without tossing your cookies.  (Good Pun, "cookies." Huh? Huh?)
"Krispy Kreme run is sweet charity"  from … (7 comments)
