We are blessed in Cary, North Carolina, with a better housing market than most areas of the country. We even have builders who are rapidly building new homes in many neighborhoods.
New construction homes are desirable for many buyers, who would rather not deal with deferred maintenance from prior owners, and who will willingly accept smaller lot sizes and less mature landscaping and trees.So many buyers like to search first for new construction. Chickens? In Cary, NC? Maybe one day. We can hope.
I was in Asheville, NC, a few weeks ago, and the folks next to my sister had these beautiful "free range" back yard flocksters. "Free range" meaning as far as they could wander in about 6,000 square foot impoundment. they were gorgeous, and my sister says the FRESH eggs are even better.
But, keeping chickens in the back yard is illegal in Cary.
Raleigh folks have chickens.
Durham folks have chickens.
Chapel Hill folks have chickens.

Seeds. You planted seeds. They sprout in time. You'll see. There is more reward to the HyperLocal Challenge than a few thousand AR Pointeroos, for sure.
HyperLocal blogging is so closely pinned to a community or individual subdivision that it is unlikely you will get 3 calls on a blog overnight. But, over time, as the hits accumulate, someone will call, or email. You will get contact. After you have several hundred blogs and thousands of hits, you will get many more contacts.
"Be Prepared" to accept the calls you get. I get many calls for contact information for the HomeOwners Association. It is amazing … (76 comments)

Picardy Pointe is one of many custom-built home neighborhoods on the edge of Cary, NC. Many of the homes have a view of the Apex Community Park Lake.

Park Village is situated on Davis Drive, south of the intersection with High House Road. Raleigh is a 20-25 minute drive. The Research Triangle Park, "RTP," is a little shorter. Drive-time traffic may lengthen commutes.

It happens from time to time.
Either the listing agent forgets to put the zeroes in the pricing, or by accident has entered a rental in the MLS under the Residential Sales tab.
It is what we call "An Honest Mistake." That error doesn't mean you will get to swipe someone's $400,000 home for $2,000. So. What does it mean?

With 3500 photos up, over 8,000 photo views, dozens of sets, and lots of conveniences, Flickr has really been a joy to use for the last year. I have dozens of sets of photos from Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and other Triangle towns.
I can grab code to embed photos in posts, or links to send in email, and I have uploaded as many as 141 photos at one time. Flickr groans a little under the weight of a 141 photo upload, warning me that I might slow the function of my computer. But I have been successful every time.
