The big oil companies once again have us by the, well they have us where they like to have us. Between a Rail Strike by CN and a refinery fire in Ontario, we in Ontario and parts elsewhere are finding pump prices precariously close to the buck a liter mark despite drops in international oil prices. Imperial oil has closed its stations. Other stations dependent on Imperial for supply have closed up this week as well. The remaining companies have pushed up their prices at the pump as a result. I have accepted the invitation by Larry Estabrooks to be part of the "Canada Eh" group. My early impressions of Active Rain and blogging in general are optimistic. About this time each year the winter weather has lost its novelty and I find myself looking out the window trying to mentally recall what the yard looked like before the snow started. In the last couple weeks we have gone from a nice thin powdery cover on the ground, which was enough for me, to head high snowbanks that make backing out of the driveway or turning some corners a game of blind mans bluff.
Barrie is an hour north of Toronto and about 30 miles south east of Georgian Bay which delivers its moisture in the form of snow squalls … (4 comments)

Amongst the personal postings I post industry related news stories on my blogs from time to time. Some died-in-the-wool bloggers discourage this as there is no real creative process involved.
