WordPress Footer Links... Things that make you hmmm. - 03/28/09 11:13 AM
My friend Lane Bailey nails it with this post! Via Lane Bailey - REALTOR & Car Guy (Diamond Dwellings Realty): WordPress themes come in two basic flavors... Free Not Free Notice that for the second class, I didn't say paid... Free themes would seem to be pretty self explanatory. They don't cost anything. But, what appears to be free isn't always. Sometimes there is a non-monetary cost. But let's talk about the themes that really are free. There are theme designers out there that like to design themes. They churn out a theme for themselves for a site and then kick out some (5 comments)

Say Hello! - 03/26/09 11:03 AM
I want YOU to Say Hello! As you may know I am a huge fan of Video and an even bigger fan of Hyper Local Video. Many times when I watch a local video I know about where it is but would love to "see" where it is on a map. That's how I came to create the Google Map Mashup you see at the bottom of the page below. Start by watching this video:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/mikemueller/videos/42/ The best part is that you can enter your own video and become a point on this map too! Just follow the simple instructions. Shoot (11 comments)
What is a Facebook Page? Should you have one? - 03/22/09 09:40 PM
A friend of mine asked earlier about Facebook Fan Pages and Facebook Groups. I gave him a quick list of what I had so he could go check them out. Our conversation was "wall to wall" so I thought I would post it here so it would be exposed to all. Currently I have 3 different Facebook Fan Pages : Mike Mueller: I started this Page as a way to better promote upcoming events I’ll be speaking at, classes I’ll be teaching, or really anything related to the business side of my life. I've Failed - 03/20/09 10:28 AM
Hopefully you've failed too! Yeah I said that. This video is actually an extended Honda commercial. I love the message that is being delivered.
Bringing this into real life, last year my Daughter started playing Softball. The team at her school had not one a single game in three years. THREE YEARS! The new coach didn't change much on the score board. They didn't win a game last year either. But he taught the girls the fundamentals and focused not on the loss but what could be learned from the loss. They concentrated on improving. Instead of losing by 10 (7 comments)
Are you building a wall? - 03/18/09 04:05 PM
I’ve always felt Social Media should attract and engage new connections and enhance existing ones. I went in search the other day (online) for a few new contacts. I searched in the usual places; Google, ActiveRain, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. While I added a few it also crystallized the cold stark reality that sometimes what we do and how we do it actually hurts our doing business. Here’s just a few examples: If someone reaches out and requests to connect to you on a social network and you reply with “Do I know you?!?!?!?!?!” You’re building a wall. In social networking (87 comments)
New to Twitter? Let's find you some friends... - 03/16/09 10:29 AM
So you finally gave in and joined Twitter. Congrats! OK, now what? You know what they say… “If a twitterer tweets in a forest and nobody is around to retweet it, does it make a tweet?” Probably not. So let’s go find some people for you to follow (they’ll probably follow you back).
Now that you have a following, you might be tempted to start broadcasting how the world desperately needs your services. Stop! May I suggest you take either of two paths: Sit back and lurk . Don’t tweet – just watch. Do that for a really long time. (11 comments)
What is Pink Friday? - 03/13/09 09:38 AM
You may be wondering why all the Pink today. "I thought Breast Cancer Awareness was in October?" It is. Today in California it is Pink Friday. Find more videos like this on Pink Friday From http://www.pinkfriday09.org/ California’s public schools, colleges and universities are facing more than $11 billion in state budget cuts. These cuts are going to impact an entire generation of kids and alter public education for years to come. Friday, March 13 is the deadline for school districts to issue preliminary pink slips to California’s teachers. As of Wednesday, more than 26,000 teachers had received these preliminary notices. "Tweeple Pages is a directory of Twitter users organized by their interests . You login using your Twitter username and password and start discovering other users with similar interests as you. Tweeple Pages lets you create more meaningful connections between you and other Twitter users." Yes, you can always search using twitter’s search functions but here’s where this is different. Let’s say I want to find more Hockey people. A search in twitter is fine but only if you specifically (9 comments)
I recently went to a Blood Drive in downtown San Francisco that was organized entirely by social media. It was announced on a blog and advertised via Twitter (and a few other sites) Hop on the Blood Donation Bus! One of the donors was turned down due to low iron levels. After getting menatally pumped up to do this, so many people "just miss " hitting that Iron Bar . Chuck Stephanski, LVN explained how not to get caught with low iron levels on the big day:
