Someone Sold My Name - 11/30/07 11:18 AM
It has been an avalanche. It started slowly, and now was getting out of control. My email is flooded with every get rich, sob story, buy this program or that program that will change your life ect....from anybody that can fire up a computer. Why would any marketer believe this will have a positive impact on the recipient??? About three weeks ago it started. At least that's when I noticed. Ten to twenty newsletters and how to "______" (you fill in the blank) email offers were coming at me, waiting patiently for me to open my outlook every morning. Who the $%%^$%% are these

DO I Look Stupid???? - 11/29/07 05:55 PM
What is the matter with people. I want to say " Do I look that Stupid?" Don't answer that!!!! Today I had an appointment to look at a house to purchase. The current tenants in the home want to stay, and knew I was coming. They really would like to buy the house from us if we can make a deal. The home is very clean for the shape its in...The sellers say there is nothing wrong with the roof, electrical, and plumbing. Sounds good, lets get the inspection out of the way and set a closing date!! Based on the

For only $4995.00 I could have saved years of heartache!! - 11/28/07 02:24 PM
With a title like that, you would suppose that there is a good story in here somewhere. Well, you would be right. Today I went to a seminar about how to invest in todays market. The Ladys' name is Paula Workman, and she is fantastic. For only 4995, she will show you how to finance her package no money down, and offer a mentoring/coaching program that will get you started and keep you out of trouble. I do this for a living, and she has our game plan down to a "T". I was so impressed I nearly signed up...But I

Mike Norvell Moves To Mid-Florida Real Estate Brokerage - 11/27/07 09:43 PM
News To Use For Central Florida Property Investing! Lake & Sumter Counties are in Central Florida. The area is actually more north and west of the actual Central FLa. It was the fasted growing area in the world it seemed for years. But recently, over the last few years, there has been a slow down of construction and a near stop in resales. People are looking for deals, or won't buy!! The slowdown of the housing market coupled with resets on thousands of mortgages has created a maket full of Foreclosures with limited buyers. Mid-Florida Real Estate Brokerage specializes in working with investors that require

Are You Going To Wear That!! - 11/23/07 07:06 AM
A week or so ago there was a post on Active Rain asking when it was appropriate to wear shorts while practicing Real Estate. I have thought about it since then, and still don't seem to agree that shorts represent a professional image that we should strive to maintain. I responded in kind to the post, and also made reference to the women who show up for Real Estate business looking like they are on the way to a dance club, or after dinner party. I feel the same about the men who show up in shorts and t-shirts like they just got off a

Where Are You At! - 11/22/07 10:43 AM
How's that for an intro. Where are You At...Are you on the phone, checking e-mail while driving, texting, thinking about what else needs to be done, all the while trying to look like you are having "quality time" with a friend, co-worker, or family member? Have you got to the point that you aren't where you should be any more?? Where are you at? Do you need to look around to find yourself? Probably not, but are you mentally where you are at? AAHHHH that's my point. Multi Tasking has gone too far,and it's time to remember, on this Thanksgiving Day, to be

Day 1 of A New Career! - 11/20/07 08:40 PM
What a great day. Today was the first day I would be working for with the new Real Estate Investment Brokerage, and it fell on the day of the monthly Chamber of Commerce Meeting. Its a small town, and this morning meeting was very well attended, with nearly 70 members showing up for the event. Anyone who goes to Chamber meetings knows the meetings end with all participants getting a quick info-mercial about them selves and their business. The chamber has off-shoots of leads clubs, and I am the President of the Lady Lake Business Leaders, so I am expected to have

Its time to say Bye-Bye - 11/19/07 09:17 PM
Its a special day for me today. I am making a move to a brokerage that I feel can give me a mentoring one on one relationship. I feel this is what I need to go to the next level in investing and creative financing. . Its a move that will define my career, its the step I was wanting to make but was not ready to make by myself. Its a very small office with a small team, a machine actually, that concentrates on investment property acquisition. Its exactly what I want to do.... SO why do I feel guilty? Leaving a

So That's Why!! - 11/16/07 07:40 PM
Jason Sardi has a post of weirdly true things that have happened to him, a different kind of me- me I replied that I have seen some wild top ten list, But your list is all by itself. But I have a few weird good and weird bad things that have happend in my life. When I was selling door to door, my hot prospect of the day was in the car, Uhhh...hot and dead in the car When working construction setting trusses I was working the center and unhooked the crane, I got a large splinter and got down to pull

Do You Bag Your Turkey? - 11/16/07 12:02 PM
It's that time. For many people it's a day off. But for the cooks in the family, its a day that starts early in the morning, possibly the day before. There is a list to make. Shopping for ingredients. Searching for all your pots and pans. What is company stops over. Do we have enough chairs, bring all the chairs back from the other rooms of the house. Well, we can buy pies. Pies are easy. With all due respect to your Aunt Mary, Mrs Smiths has pumpkin pies and apple pies down cold. Mental Note: Cool Whip!! Edwards has

Not a Good Post Here - 11/13/07 11:07 PM
Hey everyone, can I do a rant??Is there enough frustrating me to fill up a sentence or two? I'm chasing foreclosure cases full time now, and it's unbelievable how people will let a home go back for nothing, lose their credit, and be stuck with the deficiency judgment. ButttttttNOOOOOOOO, we aren't in Foreclosure. We don't have any problems. Or We have talked to the bank, they are sending me a package to fill in. Sounds like a hardship doc pack, you know, the one you get when you start foreclosure. Does anyone else out there work the Lis Pending files. There are too

Holiday Balance, I don't think so! - 11/13/07 09:35 PM
So we are talking about Holiday Balance. Balance implies harmony. Serenity. Peace and Calmness. Not moving. Not moving!!!!! Not moving is dead. When you have problems be thankful if they are ones you can handle. Look around, everyone has problems, its just our perception that make the difference. No problems would equal perfect balance. Life in harmony. Daddy Dearest. Singing in the Rain!! Cats and DOGS!!!! Oil and Water!!! Balance is over rated if you ask me! But that is perfect balance. There is nothing perfect about holidays. Holidays arrive to interrupt the slight balance that we had. Life in general seems

Small Teams Will Rule Real Estate - 11/11/07 01:19 PM
I have taken a page out of Broker Bryants book and reposted a blog from my first week or so here on Active Rain. So If I am breaking rules by doing this, please take my points. Not this post, This post is actually a continuation of that one, Helping Others Become Successful, and in fact I renamed it http://activerain.com/blogsview/269718/Still-Helping-other-become When I posted this I was not aware that Scott Daniels was a very active member of Active Rain. I knew that he and Broker Bryant were always posting informative replies on the Planet Realtor site, And I also was not aware how big

Still Helping other become successful - 11/11/07 10:04 AM
Helping others become sucessful WOW>>>>Thats some big pic , huhh?? I will get better at importing and resizing pics...I thought this would be neat... active rain to Frozen Rain!! Notice the trees growing out of the solid rock...Where there is a will there is a way!!!!...Oh well, on to the Post!! I took a minute the other day to look back at the old Planet Realtor Site. It is nearly in mothballs, but a few of the posters are noteworthy. One of the frequent bloggers is a local Fla Broker who talks on improving our profession thru training and just being professional.

Fortune Drops a Reality Bomb - 11/08/07 06:29 PM
This is the report I knew was coming. I work foreclosure reports all day now and maybe this keeps it right in front of my face. Fortune Magazine is taking a stand, with pages of facts and figures!!! Well now its in print, as of today, for all to see. If you thought getting a seller to come down before was tough, you better be ready now with a box of Kleenex. Smart agents will get to their sellers and let them know that the homes that are selling are priced against the new market reports, properly chosen comps on CMA's and

Credit Crunches Santa's Sleigh, Where is the Holiday Balance? - 11/08/07 06:01 PM
Yes it's true, Virginia, there is not a Santa Claus Not the Santa Claus we remember, who made us all happy with love and a nice gift or two while we enjoyed a holiday with family and friends. Kids made homemade gifts for family, store bought gifts were an extra bonus. The new style Santa Clause is the Credit Monster who bites and nibbles at your guilty feelings until we are running around from store to store trying to create a temporary euphoria that will come tumbling, crashing upon us later. Not this year. Please, How about some Holiday Balance Remember, that we owe

I Can Find You Now! - 11/08/07 04:19 PM
It had to happen. The unmovable object encountered the irresistible force. I am talking about something I have been fighting for a year. Or more ...Turning the sales page to something else because I didn't want to see how much less they were now. I was fearful of buying one that would be obsolete in a week or a month. Or That my friends (both of them) would make fun of me when the new, does more for less model came out the next day. What am I talking about....My newest can't live without toy. My new obsession...yes it's My new Garmin Street

Removing My Posts From Newbies - 11/07/07 08:50 AM
I have been notified that my posts are being removed from The Newbie Group. I agree that I have not taken the time to completely read the guidelines, and I appreciate my posts being pulled so that the integrity of the newbies forum will be perfectly pristine. As I mentally agree to not post anything else to the Newbie Group, I decide to take one look back and see whats in there. I was surprised to see that while my posts are being pulled , there is a post that is not only not newbie related as per the listed guidelines, its featured

Hold Your Breath, and Flush - 11/06/07 09:16 PM
What is going to happen to all the losses in the mortgage crisis.. Will it shut down the country?? I say it will not. We will flush the stink and move on with life..Its the only choice we have. I know that we can and will deal with these losses. Its kinda like taking a big breath and trying to hold it . You will breathe if you can.You must; There is not a choice. Years ago, the depression era survivors were wary of banks that could call loans without due cause. Literally thousands and thousands of homes were lost , and

This is to remind all of us to turn back our clocks this weekend. This is necessary for a number of reasons. It's not cool to be early , an whole hour early for your appointmentsIt will eliminate the arguments with the waitress about when happy hour starts. You will have the perfect excuse for having more time to work out on your old body clock. Not that we will...Have fun setting all the clocks in the office early, and have the secretary move them again for real funCall your friends in Arizona and a few other places and tell them you have

Newbies Are Great, I Like Mine Well Done - 11/03/07 04:54 PM
Ok, Ok, I am just kidding. But I am really talking about newbies in Real Estate, not in Active Rain!! What are the Schools saying now a days to New Licensees? Can you imagine the pep talk here in Central Fl where I live? Hey Kids, hurry on in to get your license! Let us teach you how to quit your job and join the ranks where the average agent takes a dramatic cut in pay for the first year and then quits! Why, in the last year alone the amount of agents already out there sold .3 homes apiece. Thats right,

Acorns Attack Realtor - 11/01/07 10:41 AM
There's not much that can compare to being in a hot tub drinking coffee at 9:00 AM. It's 34 degrees in the outskirts of Gatlinburg,Tn and I find myself thinking "It's nice not to be working today." We are half way thru a lovely mountain vacation at our family cabin. Oh Yeah, this is Monday morning at 9:00 AM, and my wife Teresa is bringing a coffee refill and a small basket of fresh fruit to enjoy in the spa. She lost the bet on getting out and braving the 34 degree weather (we are from FLa) and is moving quickly
