Francis Q Story who was a wool merchant in Boston was drawn to the western United States by poor health.  He settled in California in the late 1860's.  He studied the cultivation of citrus, planted orange groves, and is responsible the creation of the national advertising campaign that made Sunkist Orange famous.  In 1887, FQ Story purchase the land that would become the FQ Story historic district of Phoenix Arizona.  FQ Story never lived in Phoenix, but was involved in several projects.  He was … (0 comments)

Many people don't realize that Phoenix, Arizona has beautiful historic districts.  One of the most famous in Historic Phoenix is Encanto Palmcroft.  Its located between 7th Ave and 15th Ave, and between McDowell Rd and Encanto Blvd.  Encanto Palmcroft was designated historic in 1987.  Homes were built between 1920 and 1952.  The homes are quite large as they were built with the professional in mind and was considered a suburb of the Phoenix in 1920.  Today, Encanto Palmcroft historic district is one of the most sought after districts by homebuyers.  The location for Encanto Palmcroft is perfect with it only being … (0 comments)
