WORCESTER COUNTY IS GROWING! - 03/24/11 09:29 AM
WOW, Worcester County is growing! As shown in this photo above, population has grown 6.34% since 2000! Another area that has shown growth is Nantucket and Dukes county at 6.85% and 10.3% respectively. Those areas are close to the Atlantic Ocean and on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.
The areas in Massachusetts that showed a decrease were Barnstable at -2.85%, Franklin at -.23% and Pittsfield at -2.3%. Barnstable County is on the Cape but the other two counties, Franklin and Pittsfield are in Western Massachusetts.

I know that I usually post my music on Mondays but needed to send this today in memory of Nathan Alden Robinson. Nathan passed away yesterday, March 14, 2011 at the young age of 15 years old from pneumonia and influenza. Nathan was a gifted boy who loved math and music. His first instrument was a Casio keyboard and had asked his father, Donald to teach him how to play. Every morning he would get up just to play before heading off to school. CELTIC 5K ~ SUNDAY, MARCH 13th at 11:00 a.m. WORCESTER - 03/12/11 08:59 AM
My husband has been training to run since last summer and had mentioned that one of his goals would be to try running a 5K race. On Sunday, March 13th, at 11:00 a.m., he may have his chance! The Celtic 5K will start and finish at Elm Park on Park Avenue in Worcester. Runners can go today to Fiddler's Green Irish Cultural Center to register. Registration is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fiddler's Green is located on 19 Temple Street, Worcester. The entry fee on Saturday is $30. I'm seeing gas prices go higher and higher at the gas pumps and I don't like it! I use to be in the office every morning but now I am working from my home office more to save gas. We budget our gas week to week and $40 is filling up my gas tank less and less as the weeks progress. Today I am doing all my errands in the same area and rethinking all of my trips out now. Do you also think this is affecting brokers luncheons or open houses? What about showings? Are you changing your driving habits?

BOOK REVIEW: THE 4-HOUR WORK WEEK, TIMOTHY FERRISS - 03/10/11 09:01 AM
Since last year, I have been a part of a wonderful book discussion group started up by fellow agent, Danielle Dustman. Danielle is a member of the ALC in our Keller Williams office and began this group on Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. Each month we begin reading a new book and brainstorm our "Aha" moments from week to week. Once each book is completed, we celebrate by having a pot luck lunch. This month, we are reading "The 4-hour work week" by Timothy Ferriss.

As a former librarian, I have seen the importance of reading in both of my children. I took them to the library every week and we would always bring home bags of books for my husband and I to read to them later on. Now, my 18-year old son is an avid reader of non-fictional books about music, astronomy and cars. My 21-year old daughter loves her fictional books on mysteries or psychological thrillers. I particularly love reading alll non-fiction books regarding just about anything.
