In the areas served by our area Multiple Listing Service, sales over a million dollars are relatively few, particularly when compared to markets like San Diego, Manhattan (NYC), Boston or San Francisco.
Our closed sale on Madeline Island last week inspired me to do a search of recent sales in excess of $1 Million. That residential listing appeared on RMLS (NorthstarMLS) in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

Using Fisheye Lenses in Real Estate Photography
Fisheye lenses have their place in real estate photography. Ten years ago, people were using fisheye photos to create 360-degree panoramic tours. But times have changed. Uncompressed fisheye shots make great interior panoramas, without the use of 360 degree software.
For these examples, I used a Canon 5D Mark II camera body with the f2.8 Canon 15mm Fisheye lens. All of the shots below were uncompressed using DxO software.

More Outstanding Minnesota Economic News - Minnesota Unemployment Rate Drops Again in November
The good news just keeps on coming.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development reported that the State unemployment rate dropped again in November of 2011, to 5.9%. The current unemployment rate reflects a one-half percentage drop from the month of October.
Minnesota's jobless rate is now nearly three percentage points below the national average unemployment rate of 8.6%.
The November jobless report follows a reported $876 Million budget surplus for the current biennium.

I tend to think of faxing as antiquated technology.
Over the years I've suffered through receiving faxed documents (listing agreements, purchase agreements and so forth) that were marginally legible. One of my clients used to fax me documents using an old woodburning Panasonic fax machine. He couldn't figure out how to change the resolution settings on it, and therefore everything would come in looking grainy and hard to read.

I'm not trying to split hairs, but I have a problem with the agent who authors a newspaper column in the community where one of my offices is located, based on the premise that he is best qualified to counsel area property owners about what their home is "worth".
