relocation package: Tucson Arizona Relocation Package - 02/29/08 02:45 PM
Please think of me as your preferred mortgage lender and Relocation Consultant.  I'll work closely with you and your real estate agent or REALTOR.  Not many people have the privelege of knowing a town like I know Tucson.
You see, in a previous life as National Sales Manager for an international manufacturing company based in Moorestown, NJ, I was given the following marching orders:
We want you to move out west when you take this position.  Where you move is up to you.  Choose a city west of the Mississippi in North America, with access to a major airport, and we'll pay … (23 comments)

relocation package: Pool Safety for Infants and Toddlers: Infant Swimming Resource - 02/28/08 03:21 PM
Some time ago, I attended a funeral for a 5 year old who drowned while visiting family in Manahawkin, NJ.  It was one of the most difficult things I've ever experienced, and the tragedy is that it didn't have to happen.  Look at this amazing video of 11 month old Miles, and you may want to rethink the closing gift you'll give to your next client who buys a house with a pool.

The infant you just saw, little Miles, was trained by an ISR certified instructor.  He's now four years old.  Click here to see the rest of his story.

relocation package: 2500 Home Development in Tucson May Revert to Original Owners - 02/08/08 06:59 AM
Word has it that the development known as Saguaro Springs, a 2,500 home development in Marana, AZ (near Tucson) may have tanked, and will revert to the original sellers for the original sales price of $30,000,000., resulting in a loss of approximately $70,000,000 for a national developer who has invested that amount in roads and infrastructure.

Situated to the north of West Twin Peaks Rd in Marana, and west of Interstate 10, the project is an anchor of Marana's spectacular growth.  The setback may hold up the planned construction of the Twin Peaks interchange at I-10, the cost of which will be paid not … (26 comments)

relocation package: Annual Tucson Folk Festival in May: Two Days of Music and Fun! - 01/31/08 11:40 PM
Active Rain is home to some fine musicians.  Real Estate and the professions that support it seem to attract some very creative people.
In my humble opinion, any group worth its salt needs a fiddle player.  Larry Morris is ours, and he can make that electric fiddle talk!  The four of us were practicing in my office last Thursday night, getting ready to cut a CD as the application entry for our group, 4 Wheel Buggy.  We finished up Monday night, (bottom photo) and sent it off to the judges at the 2008 Tucson Folk Festival.
If we make the cut, they'll let us know in about … (25 comments)

relocation package: Tucson Being Considered as an Inland Port of Entry - 01/30/08 08:05 PM
The Old Pueblo used to be considered a quiet, dusty sort of town, known more for climate than for commerce.
That hasn't been the case for quite a while, now.  Ranked by population, the city of Tucson, Arizona now tops
Atlanta, GA, Sacramento, CA Cleveland, OH Kansas City, MO Miami, FL Minneapolis, MN and many more That's for only the city of Tucson, with a 2005 population estimate of 515,526.  (I'm that last digit.  It used to be 515,525.)
Greater Tucson, an area of more than 900 square miles, has one million residents as of May, 2007.
Interstate 10 comes across from … (12 comments)

relocation package: Birding In Tucson, AZ? Visit the Sweetwater Wetlands, 10 minutes from Downtown - 01/29/08 06:52 AM
Locals know it's here.  Birders, anyhow.  It's called the Sweetwater Wetlands, and it's just west of the interstate (I-10) off the west frontage road.
The Sweetwater Wetlands ecosystem has 11 ponds lined with cottonwood trees, and surrounded by cattails, stands of saltbush and bullrushes.
Sweetwater's trails (both paved and unpaved) are level, and provide easy wheelchair access to some of Tucson's best birding.
Tucson's Audubon Society has created a detailed website to introduce you to the Sweetwater Wetlands, home to some relatively rare (for Tucson) birds, including the secretive little Sora Rail.  I saw one making his way through the edge of the rushes, little … (21 comments)

relocation package: Gift for My Subscribers at Christmas: The Desert in December! - 12/14/07 06:05 AM
Early morning fog wreaths the Tucson Mountains, and gives life-sustaining moisture to our desert ocotillo, prickly pear, palo verde and saguaro cacti.
This is one of the most beautiful times of year in the Arizona Sonoran desert.  If you live here, you're blessed beyond measure.  If you don't, come visit!
Daytime temperatures are typically in the high 60s and low 70s.  The low tonight will be in the 30s, and it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in the desert.
If you're considering relocating to Tucson, give me a call.
If you would like a full size copy of my … (34 comments)

relocation package: Tucson's Reid Park "Zoo Lights" a Must for the Kids! - 12/13/07 06:07 AM
At Tucson's Reid Park Zoo, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Thursday through Sunday evenings during December, the Zoo is open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
It's called Zoo Lights! We went last weekend, and were delighted to see the Zoo dressed up for the holidays, with twinkling lights, jingle bells, hot cocoa, Santa and even light falling snow!  Oh, and they had stage entertainment.
The Asian elephant is a show-off.  She poses for the camera.  Miss Elephant had her own Christmas tree (no ornaments) and she was just loving it...as a late night snack!
I snapped her picture just as she … (20 comments)

relocation package: Update on I-10 Construction in Tucson, AZ - 10/17/07 11:16 PM
Summer's gone, and the snowbirds are coming back.  The Interstate 10 widening project that began this summer is right on track, and maybe a little ahead of schedule.
Maybe it's me, but the predictions about a deleterious effect on commerce in this town of more than a million seem to have been overblown.
I drive up Starr Pass on the way home most nights.  It's the 22nd street intersection with the Interstate, where the closed-for-the-duration section of I-10 begins.  People have learned to adjust.
What Tucsonans call rush hour traffic would be considered a blessing in most cities our size on … (4 comments)

relocation package: You Might Want to Consider Moving to Tucson, Arizona! - 09/14/07 12:58 AM
An intrinsic value of holding title to Real Estate is that one owns the sky above it.
Spectacular cloud formations move into the Southwest as the June sun heats the desert floor.  I like to think that the towering clouds drive before them flocks of the Lesser Hardy Snowbirds.  They seem to leave en masse.  One day they're there, chattering like magpies about cabins, and lakes to the north.  The next, they're gone!
This seasonal migration provides a necessary period of tranquillity for Tucsonans.  True desert denizens, we settle in to enjoy one of the true delights of desert living--the summer monsoons.
I'm no economist, but … (21 comments)

relocation package: Guardian Angel In The Desert - 08/19/07 11:26 PM

The Arizona Sonoran desert is surprisingly beautiful. Eons of wind and rain sculpt the granite backbone of the Tucson Mountains into amazingly intricate forms.
My favorite is the Rock Angel of the Desert.  Facing an outcropping opposite Cat Mountain, she stands silent, wings folded, head bowed, face obscured by its cloak.
Her form is ethereal.  For half an hour during the afternoon the sun paints the rock face with shadows, and she appears.
As the sun inexorably moves on its way to evening, she disappears from view.
No named trail leads you to her, but the location between Cat Mountain and Cat Back … (16 comments)
